Why would you boil a steak? That being said...consider pepper steak which is braised in gravy and green peppers...normally served over rice or noodles. If you're talking more throwing a steak into a pot of water...consider sous vide.

3 cups milk (use at least 2%. Try to use whole) and a tablespoon of honey. Bring to a boil in a pan, drop in your steak. Boil that poo poo hard for like 30 minutes. Cut in and enjoy that poo poo. Always a tasty treat. I usually save it for Tuesdays because they are the worst and I need to eat something at that point that is the best.

Bœuf à la ficelle. Trim chateaubriand steaks of fat, tie a piece of cotton string semi-tautly around each with a good length that will go over the edge of the pot. Bring a pot of good consommé to a rolling boil, reduce the heat and keep warm over flame on the table. Let each guest place a steak into the pot and let them gently simmer until done according to their own tastes. Green pepper sauce is good.

Add a side of the finest jellybeans you can procure, raw of course.

I always go with Charlie Day's milk steak recipe and add a little star anise for that extra kick

Not a specific idea for the steak so feel free to ignore if this is all you're focused on, but as an added bonus with the 'pot of water' recipes, after you've boiled the steak you also get a nice pot of water leftover that contains all its meat juice, which can be a solid starting point for making some stew. Not sure if you're into that sorta thing, nor do I know of any exact recipes, but I've seen my family do this a few times with potatoes, carrots and bread marinated (I think that's the proper word?) with eggs. So this way you get a boiled steak AND some nice stew to boot. But maybe that's the part you were deliberately trying to avoid so...in that case, it'd only be good for serving to guests I suppose.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tafelspitz Tafelspitz is simmered along with root vegetables and spices in the broth. It is usually served with roasted slices of potato and a mix of minced apples and horseradish or sour cream mixed with horseradish.

Save the water after you're done boiling it and add some V-8 and vodka to it. It's delicious, I call it a bloody cow juice.

Business Gorillas posted:you can't boil herbs, nooner well not with that attitude though the lime idea has got me wondering, if I took some thinly sliced steak and a whole heck of a lot of limes and just squeezed the heck outta all the limes over the steak, could i make a sort of beef ceviche? I know that steak needs to be cooked at a higher temperature so maybe need like 2x the limes as for regular ceviche? edit: Maybe use lemons instead, I think I heard that they cook at a higher temperature

Hahah, the title of this thread should be a crime, but alas you got me to click and cringe.... Although several of you guys have come up with viable ideas, I can't get how anyone can get around the meat tasting like cow leather after being boiled. The thought make me cringe just thinking about it.
