I'm looking at some of the parents of the kids in my daughters class, and fuuuuuuuuuuuuck Some of these no-longer-a-teen-mom moms make me want to seriously leave my wife.

Do teenage moms hope to become teenage wifes and that's why they keep the baby? I just can't imagine someone so young wanting to ruin their life that early.

I admire single moms for doing the hard work of having two jobs and raising the next generation while I, an employed late 20's male, gently caress around pursing my man-child hobbies with no commitments to anyone. It's really quite noble of them.

Many of these same types of teen moms believe that the pill, IUDs, etc are tantamount to abortion, or alternatively, live in areas where sex education/access to women's health is so poor that they have no idea what birth control is.

This a generally true, but the downside of having a child for these reasons is that it sets you up to be a loving horrible parent once the kid gets old enough to defy and argue with you. The normal process of disengaging from your parent(s) and becoming your own person is interpreted as REJECTING YORE POOR MAMA and guilt is slathered on AH GAVE UP EVERYTHING FORE U. So the poor kid ends up either being an unwilling neo-parent to their mom, or leaving home at a young age under lovely circumstances. I live in a lovely town filled with terrible people and I see this over and over again and it's very depressing.

Pretty much, but it;s not just within the family but society wide. A Parent Of A Child is doing the right and natural thing and is a hero in society's eyes and can do no wrong and is unconditionally accepted. For the first time in their lives they are home.
