As someone else able to remember the Republicans' histrionics during the 90s, I will take genuine pleasure in hearing of people getting so mad over Hillary that they stroke out or have heart attacks. Because they hate her so insanely much that at least a few of those are inevitable. Reminder that they raged on about her not baking cookies like a "normal" first lady, and that they made fun of Chelsea, an awkward teenager, for her looks.

The posts in the Iraq war thread are doing a good job reminding me to never vote for a republican for the executive branch again. It's not Trump you should be afraid of it. It's the people that he brings in with him that should scare the poo poo out of you.

I'd also feel better if the Supreme Court was packed full of liberal leaning judges. That's not the case right now. I see a lot of democrats and independents going "Screw you guys. I'm going home". No, no. You don't get it. You don't want to deal with these assholes for another 4 to 8 years. What they could do to our country could be really, really damaging. Let's get Hillary into office. Then we can worry about trying to push for more progressive causes then without having to kinda sit in the corner by ourselves twiddling our thumbs while the words "COMMUNISTS" and "ANTI AMERICA!" are poured upon us for not supporting bullshit wars.

I'm pretty sure I can get my ever Hillary parents to have no vote on the presidency and just vote R straight ticket the rest of the way down by pointing out Kasich is basically guaranteed the Nom in '20. It's as good as I'm getting though.

HorseRenoir posted:The Green Party doesn't actually want to win; their entire appeal is about being the fringe outsider party on the sidelines that can safely thumb their nose at the actual leftist politicians trying to enact real change inside the Democratic Party. I see my point missed you entire. Jill Stein is a vitalistic neoprim who wants the great dying to occur. See, what I meant by win is "achieve the final and perfect triumph of her ideology over all who opposed her." This includes random passers-by who scoff at her proposals that eleven billion people reduce their multitudinous bulk and return to nature. She is not an environmentalist, sure. She is an unreconstructed greenie from when environmentalism was an unscientific aesthetic movement centered around the notion that we can return to the forest and live anew as noble savages! She and her ilk have gotten into poo poo with indigenous peoples around the world over this racist romanticist claptrap. Jill Stein is unreconstructed. She lost the culture war. She is a TERF, she has reservations about the direction of lgbt rights and intersectional feminism. She gets really mad when you call her the very model of White Bougie Feminism. Jill Stein is exactly the sort of loser to vote for the king of losers, Donald Trump. She didn't get older, it's just that the music all sucks now and it's everyone's fault but hers.

IIRC there is/was some language in the Green Party platform about "preserving female-only spaces" which is a TERF dog whistle and when asked about it Jill Stein danced around directly addressing it as she tends to do. Phone-posting right now but I'll hop on my computer later and see if I can find my sources if someone else doesn't.
