Seeing a sea of bored, unhappy, half-asleep faces is going to be more painful than seeing some empty seats. At least you can tell yourself there was an emergency or something if you see an empty seat. Unless you have friends in the play, it's totally fine to leave at intermission. Especially if you have season tickets.
