I need to see more of his films. Only seen The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, Persona, and Fanny & Alexander so far. All great, great movies. Hoping to see the "Faith Trilogy" sometime soon.

One of the less discussed, underrated Bergman movies is Autumn Sonata. Its pretty soul crushing but that's Bergman for ya.

Bergman is pretty fuckin rad and was my favourite filmmaker during my university days. I love Scenes, Persona, F&A, and Winter Light the most but he has so many more classics like Seventh Seal and Cries and Whispers and fjskgkah

What's a good one to start with? I know Bergman only through cultural references.

N. Senada posted:What's a good one to start with? I know Bergman only through cultural references. He made a ton of movies so there's definitely at least 5 or 6 that would be a perfect starting point. Hell, I think even his "last" film, Fanny and Alexander, would be a fine introduction. I think most people would say one of these: Seventh Seal, Persona, The Virgin Spring, or Wild Strawberries.
