They also ride around in a chauffeured Rolls Royce limo thanks to Jupe winning a contest and pointing out that 30 days of use could be interpreted as 720 hours of usage. The chauffeur is also kind of like their Alfred.

Not so much the Adventure series, but some of her books for toddlers had characters called Golliwogs that have to be seen to be believed. I don't know if that kind of thing was normal in England in the 1950s or not.

I read a bunch, and I think I liked them, but I for the life of me cannot remember a word of any of them. They were just the only decent thing when the school forced us to pick stuff from their god awful library. They also had those Oz books where it was all the other stories about the dullahan queen and the princess that was a boy or something. And also a novelization of the X-men.
