The Browns haven't been relevant since the 60s but that feels too easy

I can't help but feel a better analogy is the current Knicks who hold steadfast to a thoroughly disproven theory despite receiving no success by employing it all while the organization itself denies there's even a problem while every talent they get (seemingly by blind luck) actively and publicly calls out the organization for its incompetence. They also seem like they should be good being in a large market with access to money but they simply aren't and never have been.

This is probably a better analogy though:

Washington Redskins.

Had glory in the past, a racist past that its trying to ignore, and the uncanny ability to steal defeat from the jaws of victory ever since it got it new owner (Dan Synder/Neoliberalism) Its fans are a bitter broke husk that have hope every year but to only see it dashed against wave after wave of failure. Its big raising star in the past few year turned out to be a complete bust and it doesn't want the one player that could provide stability and victory.
