Scott Morrison has saved Liberal MP Craig Kelly from the political abyss, with the NSW Liberal Party expected to tick off the Prime Minister’s request to re-endorse all sitting MPs.

The Australian has been told a deal has been hatched between the three major factions - the Moderates, the Centre-Right and the Right - that would save Mr Kelly from a likely preselection defeat from Moderate candidate Kent Johns.

Mr Morrison is understood to have asked the state executive to re-endorse all sitting MPs, which will implicate Mr Kelly, Jason Falinksi, John Alexander and Lucy Wicks. Mr Kelly was the only of the MPs who was in danger of losing his preselection.

The 23 members of the state executive will receive ballots on the vote tonight and a result is expected to be confirmed before parliament sits tomorrow morning. Lawyers are analysing the party’s constitution to ascertain whether the proposal needs the 50 per cent or 90 per cent backing of the executive to be successful.

Moderate and conservative powerbrokers have both said the deal is likely to be waved through either way.

A source close to the Prime Minister said: “we are endorsing four real Liberals tonight”.

Mr Kelly last week added to the chaos of Mr Morrison’s government by leaving open the option of moving to the crossbench if he lost his preselection.

Then the party decided that this person was never going to win Cook, so they got their friends at News Limited to start white-anting him.

Towke sued, and after a year News Limited settled for an apology, all costs, removal of all articles and $50,000 in damages. But meanwhile the Liberal party had decided that because of scandal a new election had to be called, and the state executive now had to get involved rather then the local electors. So the person who lost 82 votes to 8 won the second election.

And that's the story of how Scott Morrison got elected to Parliament.
