living in one of the nordic socialist utopias but still having to pay for private veterinary services really makes me appreciate how hosed up the american medical system is the worst part is how the insurance companies jack up the price and decrease coverage of existing customers as the dog gets older and at higher risk of needing care, or just drop you entirely because you are no longer profitable to them
