One thing I hadn't remembered about early TNG is how much Picard and Riker are antagonistic towards eachother.

I've gotten to the point in my chronological rewatch of star trek where i'm bouncing between TNG and DS9. And i've reached the first time it seems there's a direct continuity between any two series that didn't actually involve a crossover episode. In one DS9 episode, Vash bails on Q and Q doesn't take it well. The next chronological show was the one in TNG where Picard "dies" and Q lets him fix his mistakes in his youth. It could seem to the viewer that as soon as his girlfriend left him, Q went to go poke at the closest thing to a friend he has.

I gave up on my rewatch. At least for now. I might pick it up again later, but with TNG ending I was in for a slew of DS9 and i'm just not here for that kind of bullshit.
