7 pages in and no mention of Jeroen Tel? For shame.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYQ9zUWVG4o

He was 15 years old when he composed this. In 1988.

Fifteen.

The sequel loving slaps, too

Most people think of Rob Hubbard and Ben Daglish (RIP) when it comes to C64 composers and rightly so, because they were great and composed some of the most iconic tunes, but for me Jeroen Tel and his group, The Maniacs of Noise, were the ones who really pushed the SID chip to its absolute limits.

It's incredible to think that in those two tracks I posted, no more than 3 sounds are being played at any one time.

Final Fantasy VII soundtrack is an all timer. So many tracks I still listen to.

Mako Reactor, Anxious Heart (Anxiety), Shinra Inc, The Chase, all the Chocobo remixes, JENOVA, Gold Saucer, Cosmo Canyon, The Great Warrior, Cid's theme, Highwind theme, Cries of the Planet, Aerith's theme, and of course, the main event One Winged Angel.

Just a masterpiece of a game and partly because of the soundtrack.

Speaking of FFVII though, the remake's soundtrack is incredibly well done.

Especially Due Recompense (all edits) which is an awesome update of Wall Market's theme:

The music that plays when you lose a fish in Blue Marlin for NES is so good that my friend and I would repeatedly catch a fish and let it get away just to hear it. (In game you got about 30 seconds of it before the music stopped.)

More C64 goodness, specifically Steve Rowlands.

Why yes, I DID let Clyde's buddies get gruesomely murdered just so I could listen to the awesome music. Got a problem with that?
