Check out shiey on YouTube. This guy does a ton of urbex stuff - places where many others can’t get - they’re great watches. A few I watched recently that were really neat: - old Soviet nuclear bunker with vehicles and pristine equipment inside: https://youtu.be/sKWFx0QAW2w - another underground bunker, entered via the ventilation shaft: https://youtu.be/4ZHDsaJG0EI - first part of a multi-day trek through the Chernobyl exclusion zone: https://youtu.be/a_ty2imuFfI - first part of a multi-day trek through abandoned areas of Sardinia: https://youtu.be/7jRfOU6Tgw8

How about Clickspring? He's a machinist who ended up recreating the Antikythera Mechanism and writing at least one well-received paper on it. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZioPDnFPNsHnyxfygxA0to4RXv4_jDU2 Also, his build of a card press for magician Chris Ramsay is just machine tool porn https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZioPDnFPNsHnyxfygxA0to4RXv4_jDU2

Here’s a cool math? Statistics? General mindfuck video I watched from Veritasium yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSNsgj1OCLA It’s about the 100 Prisoners Riddle which is basically is this: If you send 100 prisoners into a room each numbered 1-100 one at a time, with 100 boxes each with a number from 1-100 inside, what is the likelihood that if you allow each prisoner to open 50 boxes maximum, that each one will find their number? It turns out if you don’t strategize it’s like .00000000000008 percent chance of success or something ridiculously low. There is a strategy that makes it 30 percent chance of success and this video goes into it. LuckyCat fucked around with this message at 01:18 on Jul 7, 2022 |

https://www.youtube.com/c/OddTinkering Odd tinkering, great youtube channel. very chill. just a man working with his tools and restoring things from the brink of destruction. he's restored stuff that looked like it was more rust than metal, and made them beautiful again. i like watching it to relax, since theres no talking, no music, just the sounds of him working.

he said tinkering videos really fascinate him after watching some videos of rusty old toy truck restorations and the like, so more of those are great!fps_nug posted:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWF3IDk9Gek

Seconding this and adding a few more My Mechanics mostly does tool restoration and sometimes restored tools make appearances in later eps https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qixylE1GOWs Rescue and restore can be fun but they do rely on powder coat and reprinting labels in vinyl so maybe be a lil more picky https://m.youtube.com/channel/UChzhFNSV-OuHQiYpwDMImsw Also Sohla El-Waylly has a show in the history channel YouTube about making ancient foods. https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLob1mZcVWOah2EMcifmpiZWPYofk4Hr0q
