Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" came up for me on shuffle a few minutes ago and I thought, 'This is one of the best Beatles songs the Beatles never made.' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDOL7iY8kfo Since the Beatles were so massively popular and hugely influential, there are many, many great songs that fit in this mini-genre. One could argue that entire genres like 'power pop' and 'chamber pop' are little else but euphemisms for Beatle-esque pop-rock. But I never get tired of hearing another good one, seemingly. In case it's still unclear, here are some more examples of what I'm talking about : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhk40TPWaA0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpSbvtBstaM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuJIqmha2Hk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI-5uv4wryI So post some of your favorites (but avoid actual Beatles or solo-Beatles stuff pls)

Left field but I watched the Spongebob Squarepants Movie with my kid yesterday, and thought that Ocean Man could slot in well with Yellow Submarine and Octopus' Garden. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcaPiiFZu2o

I used to watch The Monkees on Nick At Nite and thought they were just The Beatles but had to go by a different name because they were on TV.

Electric Light Orchestra - 10538 Overture https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSwDLavjiNc Roy Wood said he wanted ELO to start where the Beatles left off. John Lennon once called ELO "son of the Beatles" and said the Beatles would have ended up sounding like ELO had they not broken up.

The Chemical Brothers have a lot of tracks that are similar to in style to the Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHNbHn3i9S4 Especially Let Forever Be which is so similar that it's practically a cover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5FyfQDO5g0 They're very open about this; many of their concerts start off with some form of "Relax your mind and float downstream" from Tomorrow Never Knows.

I've always enjoyed Siouxsie and the Banshee's cover of Helter Skelter. Siouxsie's vocalizations of the guitar "slide" during the chorus is cool, and the abrupt ending is fitting for such a disjointed song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3r_YQkjnQA
