There were a bunch of news things today. SVG, Xfinity driver lineup for Gibbs which consists of 2 shared cars between a multitude of drivers along with the 2 full time cars of Smith and Creed, Gragson officially announced to the 10, Thorsport driver lineup, probably other stuff I missed since today seemed to be the day that a bunch of teams decided to announce all their poo poo.

HEY! For those not on Discord, we're doing our annual goonwatch of one of the most remarkable annual motorsports events in the history of all the annual motorsport events tonight. The YT video of the Figure 8 race has 17 minutes 40 seconds of pre-race ceremonies, etc. In the interest of y'all having things to do (and some of y'all living in Europe) and trying to make this nice and round, we're shooting for the green flag of the main event to be at or around 6pm EST. Expected schedule of events for tonight: 5:30pm- Bumpers, filler, and holiday randomness. Approx. 5:45pm- Figure 8 pre-race. Approx. 6pm- Start, 47th annual World Figure 8 Championship (3 hours) From there, we can either keep going with truck drag racing and IMSA from Road Atlanta or do those another time. Lurker here, I watched for the first time a complete NASCAR race during the Christmas break (2011 southern 500) it was very entertaining, so over the top and definitely American. Thx for suggestion!

Thx for suggestion! That's a truly great first race to watch! Since there are only 6 drivers from that race still active you should check out the 2022 Southern 500. It's an equally great race with lots of great racing and weird stuff happening and will give you a much better idea both of what the racing is like now and if you find someone you like they'll probably be racing in 24.
