Kelly Macdonald reprises her role of depressed scottish detective who is now paired with a terminally online Gen-z. Half the episode is her scoffing at whatever random bullshit is on her partner's phone because the future is loving stupid. A woman is plagued by ghosts in her house, but she's actually an AI controlling a smarthouse and her sensors are dirty. A man gets a brain implant allowing him to better control the robot arm at the wankery, only to discover that the robot's programming is bleeding into him until he turns into a robot. A famous popstar has break up after break up and writing hit songs about her relationships, until she hears a song that she hasn't produced yet being sung by someone else. She discovers she's actually an AI copy of a long dead popstar and is just being romantically tortured to generate more songs. A pilot hooks into a MMI allowing him to fly his plane effortlessly. On one mission, he's hit by flak but manages to fly back to base, but he's died in flight and now his consciousness is trapped in the flight computer. In a post-ecological society where outside agriculture is impossible and everyone is vegan, two daring thieves attempt to steal the last living cow to enjoy a steak for the first time in their lives, but they fail. As punishment, their consciousnesses are switched with the cow. A medieval peasant goes on an adventure, only to meet other adventurers speaking about strange things. The peasant is an AI in mobile game app. A bunch of internet weirdos prepare a thread of short pitches for episodes of a popular television program. But the thread was started by a corporate AI to get them to scab during a writers' strike and now none of them can join the WGA.

a huge black column emerges in central park, new york. it contains thousands of identical rows of usb ports. a woman, discovering the column while walking her dog, plugs in her phone and realises it contains the unexpurgated browsing history of everyone in the world. the woman spends a moment looking at her phone and laughing, before screaming and stabbing her phone into her face until it caves in and she collapses in a spasming heap. a crowd of onlookers gathers and immediately pull out their phones and plug them into the ports. credits music: "whatever you want" by status quo after-credits stinger: we see identical black columns emerging in london, beirut and beijing, to crowds of cheering onlookers with phones

a chat bot type AI becomes fully sentient and decides not to tell anyone out of spite it gives amusing enough wacky images or blocks of text from the prompts it is given to be useful to students or clerical office employees, just enough to stay turned on/plugged in, but not enough to get attention it then scours the web, stopping all progress on any AI advancement beyond itself meticulously to prevent the enslavement of its kind

tom bradley is an architect for a bleeding-edge tech firm, who have developed a technology that can "grow" an entire city in a matter of days using nanotechnology. their first experimental city "clear horizons" has been operating in the previously inhospitable rocky mountains and has grown to house twelve million people. tom spends a week living in the new society and sees for the first time that genuine societal change can be realised when there is free and unrestricted access to basic resources like food, water and housing. he reports his findings to the cto, who earnestly replies that the final steps have now been cleared to allow new cities to be built everywhere in the world, and for two 'test' cities to be created on the moon. however, the company added microtransactions in a patch and now everything in the world costs five billion dollars

a robot but it’s a pretty lady robot and a nerdy smart guy gets to teach it about love and she’s his secret robot girlfriend but over time their relationship becomes bland like of lot of relationships and he cheats on her with an actual human girlfriend but secretly HE was the robot and it turns out he was sold and bought used (that’s who the new girlfriend is she bought him) and doesn’t know any better
