I feel like the episode is throwing out a lot of short, quick-hit sketches, and while none of them have been home runs, none of them have been outright duds, either. Momoa's doing a great job, elevating a lot of these sketches with his presence.

Just caught up on last episode and caught the last hour of the current one live on the website, which I didn't know was an option. Lucky timing! I was in an SNL mood and laughed quite a bit, musical performances a drag but overall fun.

I've liked this season and cast, skits have cappers, and more hits than whiffs or skips. Folks are always going to be negative about SNL besides season when they young and never thinking about what today's meals mean for tomorrow's morning, but whatever, it's a fun show that nothing else is doing and by nature of being a variety show it's a mixed bag.

I contend enjoying SNL is more about your vibe and mood than any given episode consistency/quality. I try to abandon ship if I put it on and am not feeling it, come back later when I am since even if it's the dumbest poo poo rather laugh at it than sneer if I can. I mercilessly skip political cold openers though.

He’s right, though. And it is really funny for him to say it to an audience of Manhattan Liberals who will mostly be the reason that Trump wins because they cannot imagine a world where anyone cares about anything other than decorum.

The more people say it, the less will show up to vote. Bunch of cowards think it's enviable. Do something instead.

I mean, I get it, but people vote for policies which benefit them and when the DNC’s entire platform is “we aren’t Trump,” then it helps to have some substantive differences between the previous administration and your own besides rhetoric.

The tribalism which pervades the kind of New York elite who fawn over SNL’s political humor is exactly why Trump will win: the Democratic leadership think they are owed votes for nothing more than ~being the blue team~ and are shocked that anyone born after 1990
1) is old enough to vote
2) care about decades of legislative failures.

If you already hate em then it wont do anything to change that.

I like em alright and was in a good mood and properly stoned for a comedy movie. There were some good gags more of the little in between jokes worked better than plot ones. The character arcs felt like jokes they'd normally make in a sketch with a quick gag and move on, but here it's treated as their characters real thing and isn't deep enough of a joke well for the whole movie. Kinda wish the movie was half as long and they did another idea for the next half.

If I had to pick between Foggy Mountain, cone heads, Pat, or Superstar I would pick Mouse Hunt.

It is very funny that a trio of dweeby little guys making self-deprecating jokes manage to generate such ire

Their shorts hit more often than they miss for me and apparently it works for a lot of other people too. I guess there’s the whole nepo baby thing for people to get mad about but if that upsets you, boy howdy don’t check in on how things are working in Hollywood right now!

My brother in law is talking about a supposed SNL skit from the 90s with Peanuts characters and gore and Chris Kataan is in it, and they have creepy masks. Does he just have an overactive imagination or does this exist? He can't find anything supporting the existence of it. Anyone here have any helpful insight?

It's not on YT probably because of music but it is from S24E13, Brendan Fraser with Busta Rhymes featuring The Roots. Here is an excerpt via telesync on Twitter

https://twitter.com/hildadaniela/status/1529337666629619713

You can see a better version in the full episode on the Internet Archive

And as a bonus, it was brought back a year later when Charles Schulz died.
