Ditch posted:I'd be okay with it if the servers and site code weren't more broken down than Kobashi's knees I read this entire thread in the last few days after basically ignoring it all year and I was really upset I couldn't read all the columns you were linking because IP is so retarded. It's a shame how lovely it and 411mania has become. I used to go there all the time for Keith, Hyatt, Eric, and others. Now the sites themselves are basically impossible to access most of the time. Hope you get your columns up somewhere good.

(And possibly shove your scrotum in their faces.) And 411wrestling isn't that lovely anymore PE. The guy who does the Black Tiger reviews is pretty awful, and the main ROH reviewers have gotten a bit worse but most of their recappers/reviewers are pretty good. And while their columns are mostly trash, they are less trashy than most.

Hey you leave Mike Campbell alone mister I went with IP because of Scott Keith et al going there. Hey, don't you know it, the only one who still writes regularly is Eris S edit: Widro just sent out an email saying that they switched ISPs and now have a couple dedicated servers. I love how after destroying Misawa's face, Kawada modified his game plan from "kick him the face a bunch" to "kick him in the face a lot". Now that's psychology.

And the fact that Misawa is willing to take kicks in the face from Kawada with a broken... um... face. loving crazy.

Ditch posted:And the fact that Misawa is willing to take kicks in the face from Kawada with a broken... um... face. loving crazy. Stuff like that makes me wonder what Kobashi, Kawada and Misawa are like in real life. Are they just these insane freaks of nature, or are they all best friends with Shigeru Miyamoto, working in a garden and designing charming video games. Because I can't see them being in between. They have to be either insane, or just the most kind, gentle people on earth. Normalcy would be a dissapointment.

Taue is an avid fisherman and loving father outside the ring. Kobashi comes across as a fuzzball. Takayama, a brutal disgusting-looking motherfucker, seems like a down-to-earth cool guy. Minoru Suzuki is good with fans in public but 110% dickhole when the bell rings. Etc. It's an odd duality but I think that's a result of being raised in Japan.

Or lives like that detective in Dark City, in a dark room drawing what his neck looks like after taking so many head drops all over the walls.

So lately I've really been getting into the 90's AJPW stuff, and now that I've seen a bunch, I'm curious about the story behind the matches. Are there "storylines" at all, or is this straight up competition? Are there heels and faces? Because the crowd seems to get equally excited for each guy's comeback/kickout. Obviously there's some semblance of a feud, since the guys (Kawada/Misawa, Kobashi/Misawa) wrestle each other so many goddamn times, but how is it put together? Is it just a "You beat me, now I beat you?" type of thing?

Nice Joshi matches on your site Ditch. You might want to add the JWP/AJW 'thunder queen' 1993 match to your requests if you've not seen it too, although it's 60 minutes long.

That match is pretty much a universal request already, plus I usually only request what I've seen and thus know I'll be willing to host.
