I have a ton of free MP3s on my website: http://implexgrace.com/music.html There's 4 EPs and many single tracks. This is ambient / noise / shoegaze / drone, but not really any of the above.

https://www.badloop.com Bad Loop is a finnish techno band that I heard on di.fm's chillout, hunted down, and they have almost all their music up for grabs on their site. My personal faves are Lumme, 50mikrog, and Kauniit Ihmisett (Lumme means Water Lily in Finnish and Kauniit Ihmisett means The Beautiful People. I thought that little tidbit made the songs extra special). https://www.recue.net This guy did a show with Bad Loop in Finland at the Sun Dance Music Festival. Great show (you can get it on Bad Loop's site), and I'm a huge fan of this guy also.

Anyone know where to grab the crunk tribute to Radiohead, "Skeet Spirit," by DJ Gyngyvytus? I can't find a website or any seeded torrents, but I know it was all released for free at some point. It's a masterfully hilarious cross-genre mashup of Radiohead and Lil Jon, and I miss it so.

http://thereverendpreaches.com/sa/TMIM_EP_mp3s.rar http://homepages.uc.edu/~downinej/TMIM_EP_mp3s.rar Our name is This Machine is Me, and we're based in Columbia, SC. We're a rock/electronic/pop mixture thats been described by local press as a "killers with a female vocalist with a more musically diverse and tense band". It's a 7 song EP thats not completely mastered yet (this is actually just the first mixdown we have), but I'd like to know what you guys think. At the very least I think we have some catchy tunes that you might get a few plays out of! I'm fully open to any feedback you might have, and look forward to sharing more with you guys in the future! I made a thread over in GBS for it (to get more exposure and feedback) http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2605220

Long ago, in 2001, Something Awful took a day off of ridiculing the unworthy and had a day dedicated to things that don't suck. There was an album on the front page by a band called the Bloody Lovelies. I co-produced, played the guitars and sang 90% of the vocals on that record. Later on, we almost got signed by ten HUUUGe labels that came to our practice space to hear us play. I won't drop too many names but one guy that showed up and said "Ithink this band is going to F-ing happen." produced a Paul McCartney record. After a week of shopping for castles online we heard the verdict no one will ever believe, not even me. It was: We were too good. As in: We exceeded maximum quality standards. I then went barking mad, like in the booby hatch for a couple of nights and everything. I thought I was the King of England and I suspect I woke up AKIRA, but I'm feeling muuch better now. At any rate, I have completed three full albums since then and nobody has heard any of it much. I have become addicted to looping samples and I challenge anybody skeptical about such methods to do it themselves as well as I have if it's so dang easy. I have posted a URL to only two free tracks, but there are a couple more on the actual website that will be rotating in and out over the next few months. http://www.happysysiphus.com/music/marisol.mp3 http://www.happysysiphus.com/music/Sunjaz.mp3 HappySysiphus fucked around with this message at 14:06 on Aug 27, 2007 |

I was just typing a post about Seriously West Coast. You need to get this compilation for one song, Great Lake Swimmers' Your Rocky Spine from Ongiara. They're sort of indie/folk, and this song's a little Sufjan-esque. It's pretty haunting and has terrific lyrics.

drat, I'm awesome. Surprised this hasn't been posted: http://www.daytrotter.com They offer four or five free mp3s for every artist that comes through their studio in Rockford, Illinois. And they're all new recordings, so you get exclusive acoustic versions, songs that have yet to appear on official releases, and the like. Featuring The Presidents of the United States of America, Brother Ali, Of Montreal, The Slip, Tokyo Police Club, Illinois and many, many more. Also The Fratellis offer a bunch of acoustic tracks and demos if you sign up for their website at http://www.thefratellis.com Edit: Can somebody send me the Bronze Nazareth track Sinuhe's Impasse and GZA's Killa Hills off that Wu-Tang site? The rest downloaded fine but those links gave me a 404 and I'd hate to have an incomplete set. More edit: And Masta Killah's Old Man. And RZA/Masta Killa's Killa Grits. I've been listening to the Album Chapter Seven by Copperpot lately Copperpot's a producer and this is an album where he wrote songs for other artists and had them come in and rap the lyrics over his beats There's a few free tracks on his label's site here Out of the three free mp3s, none of them are my favorite song on the album, but they're still pretty cool Copperpot - Take 'n' Out f/ Edo G Copperpot - Dreams feat. Diverse, LongShot, Profound Copperpot - Out The Bunker feat. Braintax It's a very 'underground rap' sound with some fresh beats edit: For the record, my favorite song off the album is 'Mflue'

Here's a little trilogy of electronic songs I made recently based on a corresponding series of prank phone calls involving electric fencing. Each song uses samples from each of the three calls. It's intended to be legitimate good music, although its kind of funny too. I made a myspace for it for easy distribution: http://www.myspace.com/electronicdogmusics The prank calls were made by a friend of mine a long time ago.. I always wanted to use them as sample source material. I'll post direct links to MP3's if there's interest.

I'm fairly certain that Kukuruza has recorded some of the most amazing songs ever, and not too long ago I found that they actually had them available for free on their website. A full list of their mp3s can be found here, but it's kind of hit-and-miss, so I've selected two of the best songs. They're a bit different from each other, but I encourage you to check them out. Go With God, My Lovely Beyond the Rocky Mountains I so badly would like somebody to like them.
