If anyone wants to cause some super griefing in TF2 there is a server crashing bug that involves using the Spys' Dead Ringer and disguising as a Heavy and getting fake killed. You may or may not have to try it a few times. Now go crash some 24/7 2_Fort servers!

Don't forget that you need fists/kgb out, and you need to be disguised as a friendly heavy and need the dr activated. It's actually not that complicated, although a few servers have addons now to prevent players from disguising as friendly heavies.

All these Second Life stories bring back some crazy memories. I remember when I first joined and a group of Goons all gathered together to go grief those people that roleplay where one guy pretends to be an old man and another guy pretends to be a little kid complete with an avatar of a little naked kid (there's a name for this type of roleplaying but I forget what it is). Anyways it's really hosed up. So a bunch of us got the coordinates to the place and teleported and we were hiding inside this bathroom where these two guys were roleplaying. There conversation was something along the lines of: Hey kid you lost? Hi mister I can't find my parents. Why dont ya come over here... keep in mind these are two creepy dudes on the internet roleplaying a "to catch a predator" scenario. We were making our plans in group-chat about how to mess with these guys while eavesdropping on this guy's conversation and it was getting so hosed up that everyone just said "gently caress it. This is too creepy I'm getting the hell outta here." It was probably one of the creepiest things I have ever seen on the internet.

Shumagorath posted:How easy was this to do? I'm guessing GTA4 uses matchmaking, so if Rockstar's online service didn't ban you then that's pretty shameful... but hilarious. there was originally an api loader hook someone made that loaded with MP, so you'd write your C++ code; make it a .dll and it'd fire up with the game. They patched the game a couple times which would break the hook, but the people who made the hooks eventually got fed up and made them only load in freemode (I'd since stopped playing the game long before that because lol matchmaking). edit: GFWL allowed people to report players and get them banned from GFWL but it really didn't work so well.

In all fairness, listening to 12 year olds call each other friend of the family faggots all day is the last thing anyone wants to hear when they're just trying to play games. to contribute there was this online browser game on gamesdomain.com. I don't remember the name but it was a sort of pokemon style game where you mixed and matched parts to form new creatures. Parts were brought with experience from winning battles with other players. The thing we'd always do is tell our opponents about the "secret trick" where you hold alt and press left,up,down etc etc. Since it was in a browser, as soon as you pressed alt-left you would back out of the page and forfeit the match. If people weren't falling for it and defeat was looming, we'd play really slow. You could idle for 2 minutes at a time so if you were going to lose in 6 turns you could make the other guy sit there for 12 minutes. Most people would just leave in frustration.

L4D1 had some many great griefing moments. Here's one: A looong time ago the elevator in No Mercy 4 was bugged as poo poo. If you had a throwable object (pretty much an oxygen tank at that point of the level), you could cause people to fall through the elevator floor to instadeath. It took a long time for this bug to get fixed, or even discovered, mainly because people that died from it didn't realize what was happening. Also, since NM sucked for a VS map, it was pretty much the only reason my friends and I ever played it. One game I was successful at killing all 3 of the other survivors simultaneously.. and started accusing the other team (which consisted of 4 friends of mine on vent) of 'l33t h4x'. I actually got the 3 people I killed to start accusing them of hacking and whatnot. Was fun as poo poo. For some anti-grief-griefery: I was playing with 3 other good players on NM4, very soon after the game was patched to make tank items despawn (although not as aggressively as they are despawned now). Alltalk was on (although.. the other team didn't realize since we talked in vent). Anyhow, the tank spawned at the top of the elevator, and he bashed the forklift into the hallway. The other team was all giddy and poo poo thinking they won the map. We just went into a room without LOS on the forklift.. stared at the wall for 5s (a way to despawn it faster) and ran back out and finished the map. The other team was bitching the hell up accusing us of 'hacking'.

Hey, if you want to grief the L4D2 demo, Valve left in a way to play as special infected. Type set_infected 1 into the console and you'll get put on the infected team like it was Versus mode. The grief comes here- get one other person to do this with you. Join a game, so it's two of you and two of them. Now, since this is unintended, it has some ragged edges to it. First, the AI special infected doesn't go away. Second, you respawn really fast. Almost instantly, in fact. This means that with two player infected and the AI, any survivor players left will be constantly assaulted by 2-3 special infected at all times. Their progress will grind to a halt and they will probably die over and over again. Bonus points if you get someone oblivious enough to not notice the "Survivor X killed infected Y" player death messages that pop up.

Could it be possible to just change your username to something like "boomer"? Of course, this would be pretty obvious. Also, I miss SS13, and poopmurder PeriodCommaColon posted:All these Second Life stories bring back some crazy memories. I honestly hope that To Catch A Predator really does use Second Life to catch pedophiles someday. Because it would be so easy, and Linden Labs would ban them in an instant, judging by how sperged up they are with the banning, and you better hope that poo poo would be all over the news. Seriously though, I love the idea of something like Second Life, but it's SO. drat. PERVERTED. And it would be so easy to get rid of 99% of the perviness of it just by getting rid of custom avatars and animations. Avatar customization would still be there, but it would consist of only PG material created by Linden itself, and animations would be dancing, sitting, and that's about it. This really wouldn't be a huge blow to the creativity of the game since users would be able to create whatever the gently caress they want. Sure, they could make giant hentai GIFs everywhere, and I don't doubt they would, but that's much different from pretending you're a giant lactating spider raping someone who is pretending to be a 14 year old with a bladder problem. This thread has reached absurd levels of meta now, there is grief inside grief inside the grief thread. And I do always speak like a gentleman on any multiplayer game, doing that alone incites more indignation than most "greifs" i've seen. Anyways, back on topic... SS13 - Viva La Revolution! So awhile back I was playing Space Station 13 and the round had devolved into some kind of uprising where the players had already killed the AI and were in the middle of a war with security and the hop (the captain was AWOL). Joining that late in the game I figured there was probably little damage I could do, so I spawned as an assistant and headed for EVA storage. To my surprised, EVA was still perfectly intact with all the space suits and jetpacks sitting around. I acquire some tools and break into eva via the bottom maintenance tunnel and immediately snag a space suit + jetpack. I then break outside the hull and fly around to the deck and break into the captains spare storage where I get his spare ID, personal teleporter and the nuke disc. I then flew to atmos and stole some co2 containers and dragged them to the blast chamber located off the northen end of the ship above toxins. I broke into the room and placed the co2 containers in there and set them to full release then I exited the chamber and repaired the wall. I immediately noticed the clown was running around in toxins so I flew over and while he wasnt paying attention I threw a toolbox at him amd knocked him down then proceeded to stab him in the eyes with a pen and choke him until he was unconscious. I took his banana and kept it then stripped him of his belongings and then launched his unconscious body out the toxins launch into the blast chamber. At this point the uprising was still going strong so I began to fly around the ship baiting out the revolution by hovering near them near windows or externals doors. It didn't take long for people to notice the captain was alive and flying around in a space suit and the order was put out to "kill that smarmy mute bastard on sight for the revolution!". When they would do so, I would open the doors to space and toss the banana just in front of the exit as they ran towards me, this resulted in a fair number of them falling just on the outer deck of the ship or slipping right out into space. The ones that didn't run themselves out into space oblivion were immediately choked out, brought to toxins and launched into the blast chamber (which now was basically just a knockout chamber) where they sat alive but unable to do anything for the rest of the round. By the end of the round it was only myself the captain left, he has been hiding the entire round and I had no idea where he was. Turns out someone had found him earlier and welded him into a closet and stuck him near the engine, this was fortunate for me as it made a very convenient space coffin. Since I was not the traitor that round there was really no way for me to "win" after all my prisoners were captured and the captain was dead. So at that point I made my way to toxins and brewed up a 3k bomb, launched myself into the chamber and ended the round by blowing up everyone and most of the station. Well played sir, you're truly the master of grief. In other news, anyone who's ever played the game Cross Fire (terrible Korean counter-strike rip off), you can literally grief the entire game community simply by being good at the game. If you ever played CS 1.6 or earlier you may remember when you got good enough to no scope awp people or learn to burst fire with the ak / m4a1 and start destroying pubbies and they would call you a cheater simply because you could beat them. Yeah, well take that and multiply the rage by 10000 and translate it into broken engrish and you have the community of Cross Fire. If you have a positive ratio in Cross Fire, people will call you a hacker and have a coronary calling "hack hack hack". God forbid you use the AWP in Cross Fire, they go apeshit, and you'll likely get kicked in no time, even if you often miss and die quite a bit. It's easily the worst and most amusing FPS community i've ever seen, in terms of level of skill and ease to rage it's an endless supply of amusement. (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)
