Beats me. Maybe they want to "save" that team for a future junior tag title match.
If anything, I hope they bring back that awesome Hayato / Nohashi team.

Are you sure I'm winning the Rumble? That does'nt seem right.....

Incredibly minor, but your link to the Owen-Liger match is 404ing because you have a space in the middle, which you may want to edit.

Also, it's weird to me how I view new japan as bad, while they still are the largest, most succesful company in japan. For some reason I just can't give them a shot.

I'm not sure, I guess it's that they seem to not do as well as pure "sport of wrestling" as NOAH, without adding more storyline/sports entertainment elements.

Having just watched the Hart-Liger match, it creeped me out that it was from 20 years ago, so I looked it up and saw that Liger is a 26 year veteran. Holy poo poo.

AJPW/NOAH have always been the go to place for top of the line heavyweight action (although less so in the last couple years) and while NJPW has better Juniors... I can find good junior wrestling with ease in the US in ROH or PWG or at times TNA. Then Dragon Gate became trendy for awhile, and NJPW always was overshadowed by something when it came to my puro watching.

The obvious exceptions being the classic J Cups, which along with Tiger Mask/Dynamite got me into Puro in the first place.

There's not many New Japan matches I'd put on the same tier as the high-end AJ/NOAH bouts, certainly. That can make it harder to get into.

Here's some specific recommendations from what I've posted here so far:
Liger vs Sano 1/31/90
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BG0LS4GK

Mutoh vs Chono, G-1 '91 final:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZEJZV693

Hashimoto vs Liger, 2/24/94:

Hashimoto vs Hase, 12/13/94:
http://theditch.us/1994-12-13-HashimotovsHase.avi

Ohtani vs Samurai, 1/21/96:

If you didn't like any of those, I'll dig up some others from '97 and afterwards.

ps KENTA vs Marufuji on the 6th.

Masao "Rusher" Kimura, one of Japan's biggest stars of the 1970s, who remained active in pro wrestling as an undercard comedy figure with Pro Wrestling NOAH through 2005, passed away today at the age of 68.

Kimura was the top star for the IWE promotion, Japan's third largest company, during the mid-70s and into the early 80s, and headlined against many of the biggest names in pro wrestling in that era.

He later had a hot feud with Antonio Inoki, before being part of the original UWF, and later becoming both a tag team partner and then regular opponent of Giant Baba. During the 90s, he was known as a regular in mid-card comedy matches that he would finish by doing comedy interviews, usually about Baba.
