I missed that fox short film thing, is it uploaded anywhere yet for my viewing pleasure?

e:Also, for you people that are having 8 on 8 massive town battles in free-roam, how do you get everyone to band together like that? Does it require the use of a mic by everyone or what?

Sleep, rest, do your best.
I figured out how to not suck at multiplayer.

Playing in the casual aim mode because the aim assist is god drat ridiculous and if you're on expert aim mode, someone just barely moving in a slow circle is nearly impossible to hit cause the aim assist loved to drag your cursor to where they were instead of where they are. Or it does the thing where the cursor tries to drag itself over to some guy behind the guy you're trying to aim at who is halfway across the map and running across the screen, thus loving over your aim.

So, thanks Rockstar, for assuming aiming is just too difficult with a controller and that you need to give us the most powerful aim-assist ever without the ability to turn it off. Seriously I thought the aim assist in Modern Warfare 2 was bad enough, and that was rather slight. I don't know why they wont let us turn that poo poo off, I don't need it.

To continue my rant, I can only assume that the co-op mission pack DLC they'll be releasing will have missions that grant thousands of exp upon completion. I have no idea why they decided to only hand out 1xp for killing civilians (armed or not) and only 5xp for killing lawmen/army outside of gang hideouts. 50xp per kill in multiplayer barely registers on the xp bar even before level twenty, and the 100xp match bonus (and 50xp bonus if you're on hardcore) is barely worth time either. Gang hideouts are the only reasonable means of gaining xp, and only a couple are worth doing even then. I really hope Rockstar patches it so xp is a bit easier to get since there is so little content in free roam. They should at least give us some pity xp and have wolves, bears, and cougars give xp when we kill them. They're far more dangerous than armed NPCs.

However for all those complaints, free-roam is still far more fun with friends than any other online game I've played.

I think the autosave system is the game's way of protecting your fame / honor in case you get bored during a random session and start killing people left and right.

The short film wasn't that special. It was mostly the same story cutscenes up to Fort Mercer.

All those moments will be lost in time, like crowds in rain.

Oddly that sounds like a good chunk of Red Dead Revolver. But yeah, I agree, it's probably the Quick and the Dead.

There are two hotels. It's in the one where you don't have a room (2nd floor).

As far as racing, I did it with whatever lovely horse I was given at MacFarlane ranch so it's definitely possible to do it without a better one. Just don't let the sprint meter run out and don't worry about being behind a bit. If you can steer and stay at a constant sprint it's easy enough to catch up and win.

Us brits cant get Netflix or i would be watching it now. it's a shame they didnt add more multiplayer games, dueling would work pretty easily, and as oni has been saying, you should get exp from killing animals then skining them or something, the gang match's and stuff are fun but i've been having more fun running around with goons in multiplayer killing stupid pubbies.

My loving horse died on me earlier, mid sprint which was unnecessary. I saw it take a bullet before I got on but hoped it would be OK - surprise surprise it wasn't and I only got about 100 yards from it.

So, I need to go get a new horse. When I get one, is there any way of telling what type it is, somewhere in the pause menu for example? The one that died was the one I got from the mission with Bonnie and I'm fairly sure it was a good one.

Also, I can't believe I only got this game yesterday.

If you're on the 360, just hit Up on the D-pad and the game will generate a new horse for you. It won't be the Kentucky Saddler (the yellow stallion that Bonnie told you to rope) but instead some other horse. If you want another KS, they spawn around MacFarlane Ranch (here's the RDR wiki article on it: link). You'll have to catch it with a lasso and break it, then hitch it to a hitching post for it to become your default horse.

And no, there's no real way of telling which horse you'll get, you might just want to look up the different breeds on the wiki and see which one you like based on their coloration.

So, anyone have this happen? I beat the game completely. Saw the end credits and whatnot. I did not get the 100 point achievement for the next to last mission but did get the one for the avenging I did before the credits. I have no save point to return to and am pretty miffed overall. Is there anything i can do to trigger it happening?

Also, it says I only have done 56 missions, but I know for certain I've done them all.

Bumping this cause I need help and am frustrated to no end.

I'll clarify; I beat the game. I am the character everyone hates. I shot who I was supposed to shoot from Blackwater. It says I only have 56 missions completed; my save file still says "The Last Enemy That Shall Be Destroyed." I am missing the 100 point achievement from that mission yet have the one for remembering my family.

I don't know how I could have gotten that far yet still show only 56 missions completed.

Suggestions?

Yeah, I hunted around for 30 minutes getting them, then I was riding by the river looking for bighorns and my stupid horse somehow hit hit a bump and just bounced into the water, so I died and lost all 5 pelts. I am pissed at this point, so I ride back out to get the bighorns first, and what do I find but a herd of 5 elk just hanging out... buffalo rifle made short work of that.

Now I'm trying to knife a bear and good god it is a bitch. Tried softening it up with a body shot from the buffalo and a few shots to the face with the High Powered pistol, but he's still ripping my face off. Mainly it's that he'll get me once and before I can even stand he'll maul me again and I die. :smith:

Just wondering, did the TV show look a lot better than the actual game to everyone else? I have a newish 46" Sony Bravia XBR9 and the graphics were noticably better on the show than in the game, I'm assuming that's because it wasn't running on a console? Or is it because I have an old school non-HDMI xbox?

The game looks stunning but on an HD channel it was another level. Can't wait till all games have that resolution.

Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas?

So I think Ross came back for Marston after that short time because he was working under the command of the governor, and the governor probably felt he needed to have Marston killed to finish off all of Dutch's gang to improve his public image. This explains why the feds came after Marston after a short period of time.

I love the Hungarian. First thing I did when I got to Mexico was look around for one and capture it. I used it as my main horse throughout the rest of the game. According to the wiki it's the slowest of the three fastest horses in the game, but is also the toughest, and it seemed to hold true as I've fallen down short cliffs with it and it didn't die. I found mine east of Casa Madrugada, around the Mesa del Sol area if you're hard-pressed to find one.

This is pretty much how I saw it. It's entirely a political move, and if anyone questioned John being wiped out they had an out by pointing out he was part of the gang and had to pay for his crimes. They pretty much had the perfect disposable assassin.

RDR has a lot more 100% non-English convos than any other game I've played.

No subtitles by default either. I kept it that way and used my two years of high school Spanish to try to keep up (failed mostly, but enjoyed it).

Do you speak Spanish? I don't, so if they made them speak Spanish I wouldn't be able to understand about half of the game. So thank you Rockstar.

You have to accept that some things cannot be authentically represented in certain types of media because doing otherwise would prevent 90% of the target audience from enjoying said media.

I've spent a lot of time with second-language speakers, and no one just mixes their first language's words in with their second language, that's just silly.

Subtitles when all the Mexican's were speaking to each other would be nice, but my idea is to do a mission where you have to rescue a nun and she teaches you spainish for subtitles. I just went subtitles off since John doesn't know spainish, but thought it was weird when Reyes would address his country men in english.
