Hah!!! Okay, so there were these assholes up on some building in Blackwater, sniping and generally being pricks to my posse. You couldn't get to them because as soon as anyone would climb the ladder to their level, they'd shotgun them in the chest. I understand this place in Blackwater is a popular spot for sniping assholes. So I made my way slowly up the fire escape, too close to the building for them to shoot me. I realized they had all ladders covered. So I was there thinking of what to do... Turns out the top floor is a bedroom you can enter. And the bed has a big frame with a flat wooden top. I waited until they were above it, chucked a stick of dynamite on top of the bedframe...BOOM They both were cussing up a storm at me. It was beyond satisfying.

Is Jack bipolar or something? One moment his dialogue is all "hey paw i love you paw" "that was great paw" "i'm havin so much fun paw" and then he's all "i don't need your help paw arrrrrg i'm so teen emo" I know he's been through some poo poo but the sequence in which they play his dialogues makes it just so inconsistent.

Are the Social Club Challenges bugged at all? I can't seem to make the Pike's Basin challenge start for me, even though the gang hideout itself is available. I've run through it several times now, and once the challenge seems to have started because I got a notification of it (unfortunately I died), but every other time it's like it doesn't even register.

Argh, now my lasso won't stay attached to anything. As soon as I rope a horse John just lets go while my finger is still on the trigger. I must be super unlucky because this is getting really buggy.

Afterwards I get a message saying "You have completed a section of the story, but have not been awarded complete credit for it because you used the 'skip checkpoint' feature on at least one of the missions. You can play any skipped missions from the journal at any time to get credit" What am I missing here? I vaguely remember skipping one mission but I have no idea which it was edit: found it in the menu thingy. I'll try it again. ugh.

I kill his buddy with a headshot, then the first one takes off running. I give chase, catch up to him, but when I start the knifing animation (because I apparently swing a knife while I am running) the bear gets juuuust enough distance to where I don't touch him. Every goddamn time. You can outrun bears on foot, that's not a problem. Edit: Actually you can't. I was able to get one damaged a bit, then the fucker sprinted off like Carl Lewis. Chased him around a bit, got some more damage, then he led me to his buddies and it was I apparently suck. Really badly. Haha holy poo poo (FINAL MISSION SPOILER DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVENT BEATEN THE GAME)during the shootout with the army someone hit Jack with a molotov and he started flopping around the porch trying to put it out. It even replaced his model with the one with charred skin, I thought that was supposed to happen so I was pretty horrified but then once Uncle died he was back in the scene like nothing happened. Then I laughed about it!

This might be common knowledge, but I just found this out tonight: in single player you can use dead-eye to target people with dynamite, and with it you can hit people nearly twice as far away from you than if you were just to just throw it normally. What makes it even better is when you throw the dynamite stick it starts to arc out like normal but then it will just make a straight beeline towards your target like a heat-seeking missile. Doing this from the top of a moving train is simply beautiful.

Free Roam is really loving awesome right up until you run into people using casual aiming with the High Power functioning as an SMG. Does anyone know if there are any Expert Aiming Free Roam metatags? It'd be kinda cool to play Free Roam with people who don't pee sitting down.

Eventually (I think when they release the new co-op missions) they're going to add an expert-aim only mode for free roam. But isn't it true that if you have expert aim enabled that people with casual aim can't lock on to you? I don't know if that's true or not but it seems like it.
|
# ? Jun 5, 2010 06:59 |

No, unfortunately that's not true at all. They can't auto aim at you in gang hideouts during the mission, but that's the only time it's disabled.

Seriously, this is the only game I can think of off the top of my head that I wouldn't hesitate to purchase the OST, it's that good. The only thing that makes the OST not good is that it doesn't have the cues the game does. TheJoker138 is absolutely right, the cues in-game are PERFECT.
