Is there any way to get my n82 to turn off the radio if it can't find a signal, or if the signal level hits a low enough amount? I'm starting to spend a lot of time underground commuting instead of overground. On top of that, I find myself going to a lot of near-dead-zones: places where I get no or next to none reception. The power drain saps my battery: I used to go at least four or five days without needing to charge it, and now it lasts maybe two days as a result. Best profiles doesn't have an option for this, unfortunately, and I don't know of other options. Thanks!

I have a N82 with chinese markings on t-mo, using t-zones internet access. Everything normally works great. When I go to Ovi store, I get "We're sorry. Ovi Store is currently not available for your device..." I know Ovi isn't great, but there's some stuff on there I was hoping to try out. Any clues?

Maybe this thread is the best place to ask. Where can I find a good replacement housing for an N95 8GB? Already tried the one on dealextreme... a waste of 4 bux. It seems Nokia does not sell one. The plethora on eBay is difficult to choose from. Maybe an aftermarket housing is a waste of time?

Is it assumed that the N8 will be compatible with future S^x revisions? If it's going to work with S^4 when it's released, I think the N8 may have rejuvenated my interest in Symbian. I don't really care about the app store being poo poo as I have an iPad for all the apps I need and is always in tow with me. God, that camera looks loving delicious. I think it has LEDs in addition to its Xenon flash, which is god drat amazing, and it's about fuckin' time.

It will support USB on the Go which I find pretty awesome, and lends itself to replacing a laptop on whatever travels I might experience. In theory I should be able to connect a card reader to it for CF/MS cards, or my ebook reader, and so on.

If anyone other than me still has a N86, the 30.009 firmware finally dropped for NAM product codes today. Not noticing any significant changes other than the email app seeming a bit faster (finally). It doesn't seem to have broken anything, so it's probably worth the update.

Oh sweet my E71 now reboots every 3-5 minutes for no visible reason. I've factory reset it twice now to no result. At this point I can't even try to update the firmware because it won't stay on long enough. This started around a month ago when I was on vacation, got better for a while when I got back and now my phone is totally unusable. I've already taken out the memory card and tried switching the radio to GSM only to no effect. Does anyone have any ideas?

Same behavior when it's plugged in to AC? Did it experience any physical jarring prior to the problem happening? A drop or a crush?

I had a blackberry that would exhibit similar random reboot behaviour when it was subjected to being moved from a hot and humid environment to cold air conditioned environment frequently. It stopped happening after the battery was replaced. I would suggest opening the back of the E71 and see if there is any corrosion or damage, maybe bending, of the battery contacts. Since it happens when on AC I'm stumped.

It was really humid when it started happening. The contacts in the phone and on the battery look OK but I might try cleaning them. I just ordered a new battery from Amazon in case that is the problem. It's just a bitch that this started happening like a month before I was going to get a new phone.

I think I finally found something about the problem: http://jaidev.info/home/blog/archives/2010/04/23/nokia-e71-crashes-reboots-with-att-3g.html I'm rocking EDGE for now, I'm at a whole 15 minutes without a reboot! Now I just need to update the firmware but doing manual server setup instructions from here don't seem to work because they forgot the URL. The Europe site has https://dms.update.nokia.com/dms/omadm listed but that doesn't work either.
