Top tip however - if you're making d&b for fun etc, it's cool, but if you want people to play your music out then learn how to mix so you know how things sit in mixes and what works well etc.

Heres a mix I did for this "letsmix" contest I obviously have no chance at winning, not because its bad, but because it was just now brought to my attention that you have to register an account to even vote for it, the contest was that you submit a mix, type up some bullshit words for it and then you get a pacemaker dj controller thing that if I won, would probably just sell because I desperately need the money anyways. I did not know this thread existed! I just got into messing around in ableton a couple months ago, and I've made a few house/electro mixes so far. I'm really happy about my most recent one. I don't know if you do this or not - but instead of making a playlist of new songs on your computer and looping them just burn them all and play them randomly on your CDJs/whatever you use. Its fun and its probably the quickest way to get better. Also try crazy poo poo its fun and wont matter if you screw up and you'll probably learn a lot. Can anyone recommend a good brand of blank CDs to use as MP3 cds in CDJ-200s? the HP blank CDs I have now never work for some reason. I used to use sony but I dont remember which brand (they worked really well)
