THE BLUE DEMON RIDES AGAIN

Stare-Out posted:

I was playing poker in Blackwater and after a while there was only me and that Matt Damon looking sumbitch who wears a top hat left at the table. After a long while I managed to get a really good hand and went all in, sure I was going to win. He'd been doing basically nothing but checks at that point.

And he won. :suicide:

So I instantly put a bullet between his eyes and figured I'd surrender to the cops (which I actually hadn't done before). So I stood there with my gun holstered, when a cop walzed over and blew my head off with a shotgun. :saddowns:

How do you surrender in this game again?

I thought you had to do exactly what you did. Maybe that guy in the hat was the cop's brother.

Yep, you're pretty close to the end. Did you not do any of the outfits or anything? Legend of the West outfit alone takes a solid like 3+ hours to get.

My first playthrough (with nearly all stranger missions, outfits etc) took about 30-35 hours. If you're almost done at 16 that is kind of impressive.

Well all the stranger missions save one are available post-game, so once the story line is wrapped up you could still have some fun doing those and completing any challenges. That should run at least another 5+ hours. :)

Also, Spitshine and myself were doing advanced co-op with a couple of pubbies who had a tendency to rush up and get shot up in a place that was to dangerous for rescue. I'd like to get a couple more 25+ level goons with mics for Tuesday or Thursday night where we can knock these out. Advanced is tough. The AI is sharper but you also have the advantage of using every weapon you've unlocked. Also, it's expert aim only, which makes it even more of an idiot trap. Tesora Azul is one that you really need to poke at carefully. They are fun, in part because of how challenging they are.

I had fun the one time I did advanced co-op with goons a few months back, but you're gonna have a hard time getting people to do anything other than murder zombies come this tuesday.

That son of a bitch. I neglected to remember his name because every time I saw his face I thought of Matt Damon. He's Matt Damon to me. And whenever I'm in Blackwater, Matt Damon is going to get shot.

I'd like to nominate Carnelious Wolfe for most obnoxious Poker motherfucker. Not only is he one of the cheating AI sons a bitches, but he always talks about "KILLIN' A MAN!" every 15 seconds which usually prompts me to shoot him squarely in the face after I bust him. Last time I played with him he had two Ace high club flushes in a row. Fuckin' motherfucker.

You're merely postponing the inevitable.
So I've got 1030 points leftover after a Rock Band track splurge. I'm reserving some of this for Undead Nightmare to max out my $30 spent in October because the other tracks I want can wait til next week. I look forward to teaming up and battling the undead with fellow goons later this week.

I played a bit of Red Dead Redemption today, finished the game which I should have done sometime in June according to my save file. Anyway, after I was done I decided to play a bit of poker, and after 4-5 hand a huge graphic glitch occurred. All the NPC faces lost their features and all they had was a nose, and the poker table also disappeared.
Also, during the last mission I noticed a lot of lag when I scoped with a sniper rifle.

Just thought I'd share this since I have never seen this before.

The poker hallucinations happen when Marston drinks too much whiskey and has to sit through a long poker game.

Yeah, it's hard to organize. Metatags are a good compromise based on what xbox live is capable (for 360 gamers of course) but seriously, there are components of online gaming services that have existed for 15 years that live doesn't really support (lobbies, dedicated servers, etc) and that's really loving stupid. Friends lists and xbox live parties totally do not cut it.

They definitely do, but we're also all juggling recent releases (Fallout New Vegas, new DJ and Guitar Hero releases, Halo Reach (for the 360 peeps), etc). Rest assured that the Goon RDR community will pick back up here this week and weekend with Undead Nightmare being released on Tuesday.

Could anybody tell me what the deal with this is? I've spent at least 2400 points on Rock Band tracks this month too, and at no point did I get 800 points back. Unless I'm mistaken and spent all those, too.

I don't really care, since I'm buying Undead Nightmare no matter what, but I'm just curious if there's some catch to the 800 points thing that's keeping me from getting mine.

I'm guessing you don't get the 800 points back until the month ends and they tally everyone's expenditures. I didn't read the fine print on the deal though, but I'm counting on Undead Nightmare to put me over the goal line. I won't be able to play it until Halloween though, which is both awesome and terrible.
