Just wanted to thank everyone for any help I got through this thread. I have a job offer with a start date on the 31st in Tysons Corner, VA that is just what I was looking for! Now we need to find a place to live that is convenient to the Metro for him, and for me to drive to Tysons. Now I have to finish this last week of work in New Jersey and move essential things over the weekend to start work on that Monday...plus trying to move the rest of our stuff into our new place (when found) from both my parent's house in PA as well as our storage unit in South Carolina. This year of job searching for the both of us is at an end, and I'm so glad we can now settle down.

I originally posted this in CC, but this seems like a good place too. Job Openings (updated November 1) Staff Writer As staff writer, you'll be writing reviews. You're in charge of a review from start to finish, meaning you photograph the product, edit those photos, test the product, and write the review. This process takes anywhere from three days to two weeks, depending on the product category (headphones are our shortest review, DSLR reviews are significantly more complicated). Everyone in editorial starts out at this job before moving up (we don't hire outside managers). You also might move between sites and you might work on several at once. If you're interested in this job, send me a PM, email, or IM (my contact info is in my profile). I'll forward your info to our HR department so I can get zany bonuses when we hire you. We're looking to hire a bunch of people ASAP, because we want to have you trained up in time for CES. Non-english Editors We're also looking to launch our current properties in other languages: French, Spanish (Mexico), Portuguese (Brazilian), or Chinese (Mandarin). Location Davis Square in Somerville, MA. We do all our lab testing in house, so you'll actually have to physically come to work in our offices. It's ok, we're all decent people and none of us smell too bad. Who we are Reviewed.com is a network of product-specific review sites that include CamcorderInfo.com, DigitalCameraInfo.com, TelevisionInfo.com, HeadphoneInfo.com, VacationCruisesInfo.com, Refrigeratorinfo.com, a half dozen other appliance sites, and a few others. We're a growing network and this year we've expanded from consumer electronics, into appliances and travel. We're launching a new site about every month, and that's only going to increase as we hire more staff. Basically, we get products, run them through a bunch of lab tests, then produce objective, in-depth reviews. As of January, we were acquired by USA Today / Gannett. Basically, they liked what we did, gave us a bunch of money, and said, "keep doing what you do, only do it for us now." We're using these funds to aggressively expand our network: since January we've doubled our staff, and we're looking to double it again. We're also working more closely with Gannett now, which means we might expand into different mediums in the future! What we're looking for (updated November 1) We want people who are smart, adaptable, and capable of getting things done quickly and well. Everyone's job description switches around quite a bit, and you might need to bounce between sites or create content for a few at once. Also, it really, really helps if you are some kind of nerd. Now that we're part of a huge scary corporation, it's really important to our CEO that we maintain our dumb, nerdy culture by playing video games at lunch or something. Would you like to know more? If you have any questions or just want to trade contact info, feel free to get in touch with me. rinski fucked around with this message at 16:56 on Nov 1, 2011 |

Im really just looking for a job in finance/marketing/ or bus dev in the bay area. Contact me at georgehoutam at gmail dot com I have sent my resume out to a bunch of places but only got 1 phone interview which essentially told me they liked me but can't hire me this far in advance b/c they are a startup and cannot predict need that far in advance (why did they interview me?). I am pretty confused because I have more internship/research experience than similar students. Note: I live in North Carolina, I just have lots of friends who have moved to LA and it's got more aerospace opportunities than anywhere else. Desired position Entry level Aerospace or Mechanical Engineer, or drafting. Can also do Manufacturing Engineering or Structural Engineering. Summer 2007 - Internship at a major aerospace sub-contractor. Working in manufacturing, quality control, CNC and sheet metal fabrication shops (not doing fabrication myself, but working closely with the people who were and learning as much as I could), and prototype construction. I've got the usual engineering coursework, along with fun things like Compressible Aerodynamics, Orbital Mechanics, Space Systems Design, Jet and Rocket Propulsion. I've also got an award-winning senior design project under my belt that ended up on the Discovery Channel. Skills SolidWorks: 5 years AutoCAD: 2 years Pro/Engineer: 1 year MATLAB, Maple, NI Labview, Tecplot, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook. Job opening in Nashville, TN (technically Franklin, 20 minutes south). My lovely Little Kiosk is hiring, I am the store manager and as such I determine who that person is. I need someone asap too. Company: Talk-Wireless, a 3rd party Franchise that sells Sprint. Location: Franklin, TN. It is a kiosk in the Cool Springs Mall. Hours: Full Time, 40+ hours (yes there is OT). I need someone with a flexible schedule. This is a weekend job, although I do the scheduling so you can take occasional weekends off if needed. Hours can vary from store hours to whatever outside sales numbers, sometimes you gotta get up at 5am to go to a 6:30am roll call to sell phones to people at a metro precinct or whatever. Hours can vary. Role: Sales, customer service, and outside sales. I really need someone with initiative to not only sell in store, but do 10-15 hours a week of outside sales. Timeframe: Immediate. Wage: hourly plus commission (read: $7.50 an hour plus commission). You can do $30-40k a year if you hit your required sales numbers, and def more. That is based on current numbers, and our current numbers are below what we need to hit, so there is a lot of room for growth. If you don't sell you of course won't make near as much. This is a sales oriented job. PM me or email me at jim.bellizzi(at)talk-wireless.com for more info. Mention that you are a goon if you email please.
