Job Seeker Location: Raleigh, NC (triangle area) I just moved here not too long ago and I'm currently looking for anything that is hiring. I have mostly a general IT background including things like help desk, maintenance, and repair. I'm not at the luxury of turning down anything that comes my way so if you have any leads, please let me know! It doesn't have to be IT related. poxin fucked around with this message at 19:57 on Aug 25, 2011 |

Job Seeker Location: Rochester, MN, willing to relocate anywhere, please, I need to get out of here! I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Bioengineering. I am into design work and engineering, and also have some skills with image processing, microfluidics, FEA, biometrics, microprocessors/sensors, and CAD. I just came to the conclusion that I don't like doing research, so I am looking for something more hands-on and rewarding. I'd really like to move to a city and be in a startup environment, since my job history is sort of varied and weird. I think it turns off larger companies. Send me a PM and we can talk! I can also do weekend distance work while I'm doing this Mayo internship.

Here's a link to my original job posting, since it's the same: link. We're looking for an unspecified number of English editors and possibly people who can write in Portuguese or Mandarin (you'd have to convince people you were a native speaker). Also, just to clarify, since it's kind of a weird stipulation for an internet writing gig: there's no telecommuting. You'll be testing the products in-house, using our fancy equipment, so you'll actually have to come down to our physical office in Somerville, MA. We already hired one goon! Our next hire could be you! My GMail is "haha.oh.what" if you have any questions! rinski fucked around with this message at 15:20 on Mar 29, 2011 |

Job Seeker I'm an academic of sorts looking to find out what alternatives there might be from adjunct work for the next year. I'm finishing a Master's degree culture studies, and am well versed in tech stuff, American history, culture theory, virtual, worlds/gaming and am in Northwest Ohio area. qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies (concentrations in Political Science, American History, American Culture/Popular Culture Studies) Master's Degree in Popular Culture Studied sociocultural relations, technology, and gaming, along with a wide array of gender and media studies. Program was focused on writing and analysis with an emphasis on ethnographic methods. Wrote a thesis on the methods of social control and ecological/sociological conditions in commercial and independent MMOs. developed and taught introductory level humanities courses. Also taught advanced humanities courses on occasion (not semester-length). Worked on advisory committees for district level political campaigns. Did field work stuff there, too. Developed a few campaign plans that were ignored in favor of "hoping for the best." Also did policy work for a community activism organization that fights human trafficking on the local and state level. So, there's that. There's retail work my past as well, just to show I'm not alien to jobs. Desired Position No idea, really. I'm actively looking for adjunct work because that fits me right now, but I realize that I don't have the time to cast a wider net, and wonder what I might find. So that's the purpose of this post. I'm able to jump into most anything that doesn't require highly specific skillsets (chemistry, specific coding languages, etc.). That being said, I'm comfortable in those environments on a conceptual level. So, if having a cultural scholar on hand sounds interesting, PM me and tell me what you do, then I'll tell you what I can do.
