I just finished listening to all of the Punchsport Podcast. I thought it was a pretty good first show. I didn't have much of a problem with there being five people because everyone spoke clearly and no one spoke over each other. The downside was I didn't know who was speaking since you all kind of have similar sounding voices. (I was able to pick up on Hulkamatt's voice, it was a little more distinctive.) I work in an office, so I spend most of my day at work listening to a lot of comedy podcasts while doing my job. So my suggestions would be keep doing random wrestling topics like you all had with Low Ki, and perhaps have a segment where Weekly Font hosts a game between the others.

Listening to it right now, and enjoying it a lot. The free for all concept is good to introduce us to you all, but you might want to think of something a little more structured. Obviously, the core of this is the conversation, and that's where you excel, but consider having a couple of planned segments so people know where they are in the podcast. A game might be a good idea, like Grant suggested, or a short more structured debate within the broader show. One other thing, and it's a very very minor one: right at the start, Weekly Font's p sounds were hitting the mic much too hard. This was just for the opening until you seemed more comfortable with mic position, but you might consider a pop screen to stop that in future.

I was trying to think of some wrestling related games and so far I've come up with these: Punchsport Password Rules: A wrestling version of the old game show password. You all split off into two teams of two with Weekly Font as host. Font gives a member of each team a wrestler's name from past or present, and that member has to get his partner to guess the wrestler using one word hints. Each team goes back and forth taking turns. The catch is, nobody is allowed to use wrestling related hints. That means no promotion names, moves, nicknames, etc. The game goes best 2 out of 3. Six Degrees of the Undertaker Rules: A wrestling version of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. The host Weekly Font gives out a wrestler's name from past or present and the contestant has to connect that wrestler to the Undertaker using matches with other wrestlers using the least amount of matches. The matches have to be specific. Since most people don't remember dates of matches, you can use just Pay-Per-View names or specific names of PWG or ROH shows. But if you use a Raw or Nitro match for example, then you do have to provide a date. For example. "Jay Briscoe" 1. Mark & Jay Briscoe vs. Haas & Benjamin (Glory by Honor IX) 2. Shelton Benjamin in Money in the Bank that included Ric Flair (Wrestlemania 22) 3. Ric Flair vs. Undertaker (Wrestlemania 18) Then the next contestant has a chance to steal the point by seeing if he can do it in less matches. And no cheating using wikipedia.

ideally a game for the show would be something that's both fun to play and funny to listen to. The "Superstars" game on smart wrestling fan where they have to guess which ridiculous Matt Striker quote is made up, for example. I like the 6 Degrees idea as long as you can pick some nicely obscure people, but listening to someone work it out on air might not make for good listening. You could do an "odd one out" type thing. For example: Which of the following was NOT a Terry Funk retirement match? Terry Funk vs Rex Hart, Hammond, IN, 1999 Terry & Dory Funk versus Terry Gordy and Stan Hansen, Tokyo, Japan, 1983 Terry Funk vs Mick Foley, Atlanta, GA, 2004 Terry Funk vs Bret Hart, Amarillo, TX, 1997

Especially how you could hear Dave's mental train leave the station and pick up steam as his mind is going through all the great angles and ideas that they can do and Bryan just derails him...

I noticed the P popping too. Seeing as I record music constantly with the same mic I should have seen it coming but didn't think it'd show up on podcast. The pop screen will be in place next time. Also ughhh games on a podcast.

in retrospect, games probably aren't the way to go for this style of podcast. However, adopting themes for particular episodes could work. Have some episodes that are just round tables based on what's happening in wrestling right now, but then have episodes that focus specifically on a particular subject or a particular era.
