It's great workout music (~128 BPM) as well as just rolling around music. Personal favorite tracks: 1) Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F) (Laidback Luke Remix) - It's an interesting mix between hard bangin' house and synth heavy build up. Sets the tone well. 9) Gold Dust (Swerve Remix) - Sweet vocals with a bass to match 10) Til Death (r3hab remix) - My personal favorite on the mix, just an all over outstanding track. 17) I'm Free (Hatrias Remix) - Closing the mix on a major-chorded track is always fun, this one again has outstanding vocals that will get stuck in your head all day. The idea was to mostly play depthcharges and almost no peaktime bangers. The curve is somewhat different from what we usually do, working towards a segment with no kicks and then building from there. Berlin techno is definitely something else. Do you guys play this out? People had no idea what was going on when Adam Beyer and MANDY rolled through here, I can't imagine somebody like Ben Klock. Good stuff though, always enjoy your sets.

If we get the opportunity, then definitely. But while living in the Netherlands is a blessing for any electronic music lover that just wants to go out, it's pretty hard as a DJ. There are a lot of people DJ-ing and then there's all the international DJ's visiting every weekend, so opportunities to play are rare. And even then we mostly can't do (only) deep stuff like this. This sound isn't nearly as massive as the Joris Voorn techhouse sound or as popular as the more well-known techno from people like Beyer, Umek and Alan Fitzpatrick, but it's definitely settled among techno fans. I suppose it's fair to say that you could visit at least one party where they'll play stuff similar to this set each weekend, although you might have to travel a bit. Then again, distance is hardly an issue around here, so it doesn't really matter. It took a while before the larger crowd really began to notice the "Berlin-techno", and it's still relatively small compared to other techno (not to mention house or the harder styles of dance music). This is good though, as it keeps parties fun. In October I'll be attending a 15-hour party where Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Luke Slater and Marcel Fengler will each play a long set, which will hopefully be quite special. Thanks for listening, glad to hear you enjoy it. Ninja edit: If you want to get an idea of the parties around here, check here (just Amsterdam). It should give you a decent impression.
