I have read some funny goddamn things in this thread, but a Call of Duty player undertaking in-game mortification as penance for homophobic slurs has got to be one of the funniest by far. Also, my first thought was that the guy was pretty cool for apologizing about it. Which is silly, because he's really just an alrightish guy because the cool apology is just a partial mitigation of his decision to be lovely in the first place, but I didn't even think of that because it straight up did not occur to me that a CoD player might not call everybody faggots all the time. I guess that says something about my experiences with the CoD playerbase in general. Angry Diplomat fucked around with this message at 18:33 on Sep 9, 2011 |

Or deliberately getting incapped next to the exploding fuel pumps, waiting for someone to rescue you then shooting the pump, annihilating the entire team.

While I know not many people like it, I find the multiplayer in Homefront(360) pretty fun, particularly the UAV's. I play the parrot (the flying UAV that marks targets) different from most other players. Most players are boring if they use this, flying at the maxim hight they can, and sit there spotting until they get pecked at with small arms, or nailed with a missile. Sometimes they get a little crafty and hide behind buildings. I choose to fly low to the ground most of the time, making my profile smaller than if i was above them. While doing that was fun, recently I found out using parrot for suicide runs can actually be a little profitable. I've noticed if you blow up on someone (with the exploding UAV perk), you get a normal kill point (130) and a spot assist point (40) if you marked the target before they blew you up (a normal drone kill is 70 points). Thats the fun part, you can't self destruct the parrot, you gotta get a enemy to shoot it or stab it. I'd find a sniper, spot him and than land right on top of him, often times having to sit on his face to get him to notice me. At first he would shoot or stab the parrot right away, blowing it up, killing him in the process. Since snipers are often on kill streaks, its very easy to get more than enough points to buy an other parrot. The parrot can cross large maps quickly, and after a couple runs they get wise and sometimes choose to ingore me. which allows me to sit on them, spoting people until someone shoots me, getting me a kill. usually they choose to run away, the inertia the parrot has makes it tricky to chase them, but they have a hard time lining up a shot to take me out too. While they are frantically trying to get me, they frequently get shot by my team mates, scoring me spot assist points. I can do this for awhile until they use enough common sense to use the missile drone. Shnag fucked around with this message at 23:38 on Sep 10, 2011 |

All the talk of gays in halo reminded me of the good old halo 2 days. Now I'm scottish, but my scottish accent isn't really that pronounced (my mum is canadian so one less parent with an accent to learn it from) but when I choose to put on a scottish accent I can make it sound really really camp/gay. One day me and another friend hook up in halo 2 and I'm talking camp scots so he joins in and we hop into match-making and we're talking about putting sausages in people's bottoms and stupid not subtle at all stuff like that. We enter a game of team shotguns on mid-ship and get matched with 2 americans. One of whom instantly interrupts with "SHUT UP FAG!" and this just fuels us even more. These guys really hated gays since the match just started and it became 6 vs us 2 as they just went team-killing crazy and we just kept irritating them. Old-fashioned and a not very creative grief, but it was hilarious at the time, spurred on by good memories of the whole anti-gay vibe that shooters attract: quote:The reason to buy this is that the only thing Halo players hate more than losing is losing to someone who might be homosexual. This this this a million times this!! On a related note, if anyone is playing gears of war 3 right now set aside a few hundred gamerpoints and buy the pink weapon skin. I imagine being impaled by a rather neon pink retro lancer's bayonet would make more than a few heads spin.

Garry's Mod has a mode called Trouble in Terrorist Town where the innocent terrorists need to find the traitors among them. The easiest way to grief is to "RDM" which means random deathmatch and is basically shooting people for no reason. The BEST way to grief is to get a script that makes you toss things fast using the magneto stick and propkill people easily. Most servers disallow scripts now though. Also, griefing Garry's Mod RP servers is fun, but they got smart and made it so you can't crash them by spamming bridges. Cheats enabled HL2DM servers are great for griefing too if you find a script that can piss people off. I had one that could spam Alyx saying "Oh god" over and over. Red Orchestra is also easy to grief. Knock someone's gun out of their hands on your team and steal it. Usually they're stupid enough to TK you. Also satcheling your own team's tanks and switching teams so the kills aren't TKs. Zeether fucked around with this message at 19:00 on Sep 26, 2011 |

I was playing Doom 2 multiplayer with a couple friends using a mod called Real Guns Hardcore. Basically it just puts in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 weapons/perks/attachments in, ups the enemy counter and lets you go to town on people. Just for the hell of it, we decide to do multiplayer. On one of the maps, I find a puddle of shallow water in an outdoor area. I find out that if you crouch in it, you're rendered completely invisible since crouching in ZDoom just flattens your character model to a ridiculous degree. Since nobody can see me at all, I shoot and kill everyone who passes by with impunity. "But wait," you ask, "wouldn't it have a killcam to reveal where you are, since it's a Modern Warfare mod?" And you'd be right. HOWEVER, the killcam doesn't work properly and just shows your attacker pointing and shooting at the ceiling. Since I'm outside, all they can see on my killcam is the skybox graphic, making it impossible to tell just where I am. I killed my friends about a dozen times, them getting more and more pissed off until I finally showed them what was happening

This past weekend I was bored playing MW2 with my old roommate and calling out people via Skype when I decided to take some lessons from this thread and put them to good use. I set my clan tag to [GAY] and we headed into some Hardcore rooms to gently caress with people. My friend played the games totally straight, while I would proceed to pick out the most annoying person with a mic and team kill them on sight, but no one else on my team, while still managing to score decently in the game. Some people would bitch, some people would freak out, but one person really took home the gold. I was surprised that none of the people I TKed fired back. Some of them threatened to, but no one shot me, Finally, someone, but not my target, took it upon themselves to shoot me. I didn't even notice and chalked it up to an innocent mistake. 5 second later, I got a message saying "I am so sorry for shooting you" What? That really confused me. It's a game about shooting people. Why be sorry? So i rolled with it and accused them of TKing me because they were a bigot and saw my clantag. Sorry that what follows is a bit of a chatlog, with the other person's horrible spelling uncorrected.. <-- me <--them Srry i kill u Are you apologizing because you shot me for my sexual orientation and that makes you a bigot? I'm a girl. I'm so srry So? That doesn't mean you can't hate on someone for who they are. I dont hate u silly. I know i'm just being dumb. I killed cuz my BF told me 2. Srry. Your boyfriend is a homophobe? No just a jerk at timez I donno. If he had you shoot at me just because my clan tag suggests I <3 men, it sounds like he is a very closed minded individual. I know but he sweet when not pissed. But he just gets upset at the slightest hint of homosexuality? It's people like that who make it hard for the LGBT community to thrive. Ye i gess i apologize 4 him. At this point i went back to playing and ignored her. But later I got 2 messages So r u ok? I no how u feel. That was friday or saturday night. But today, when I logged in, there was a message in my box that I had to show you guys.
