And yes, I watched the credits. Damnit Shaheed, I told you I'd come after you if you did bad things!

Still, it made me feel less bad-rear end. Like in the Museum level where you can work methodically taking out guards one by one and suddenly up pops an elevator full of alerted guys. A simple warning from your handler could have let you get the drop on them with traps.

Also would have been cool to be able to sneak-kill bosses, but that would make stealth completely broken I guess.

They will show up in some form or another unless you replace them with another handler during the mission. I think SIE physically appears 3 times. If you pick Albatross and Sis is alive, she will show up 3 times. I don't think Albatross appears directly, but he will hack the turrets in one battle for you. I'm not sure how it plays out differently if you killed Sis.

Then I think I encountered a bug, Sis only appeared once, to set me free in the medical bay.

No, I think you had it right about Sis in the Greybox, I am 99% sure she only shows up the one time to get you out of the med bay, and then Albatross takes over turrets at a couple of points.

SIE will if you choose her. Albatross won't (though he'll communicate with you, and he can take control of the turrets in the room with Parker. Sis will show up in a cutscene, and you'll meet a random G22 dude just after the area with Mina in it (the same spot where SIE/Heck would be if you chose them).

Marburg and Brayko. So basically, all the regional end bosses. And no, you don't get Marburg's gun if you kill him at the Graybox instead of in Rome.

They're nothing special. Most of the Tier 3 weapons have better stats (though there's not a huge difference between the different weapons in each class anyway). And no, you can't get Brayko's SMGs without killing him.

If you aren't playing on Veteran or as a tech specialist, you have to choose between saving your handler or getting the Halbech data. When you go out into the courtyard for the second time, there are two doors with the different objectives and you choose one.

Actually, I think the decision must be done in the dialogue with your handler shortly before entering the courtyard. Otherwise the other door can't be opened. Been a while since I've played that section though, so I could be wrong.

Neither Veteran nor maxed out Technical Aptitude can save both of those files. One of the other backgrounds/specializations might allow it, but I kinda doubt it.

So I finally finished the game today after having it on my Steam list since the... summer sale, I think? Best five bucks I've ever spent. Definitely going to start a shotgun rear end in a top hat file sometime soon.

I have an issue, though. During the last mission, people kept bringing up marines that I apparently killed in Moscow. Except I didn't kill any marines. I tranq'd and punched a few, sure, but I didn't kill them. I had a solid 0 enemies killed through the very end. I did kill Leland in the end, though, because gently caress that guy. I also wanted to kill Marburg, but didn't get the opportunity. :argh: Was I just not supposed to engage them at all, or what?

You have to talk your way in. If the marines ever go hostile against you, that flag triggers.

This is a known bug; it triggers if the marines ever go hostile to you, and also if you sneak in (or out) through the rooftop door, even if you don't actually kill anyone.

This loving game... my last run through the game ended COMPLETELY differently than every other time I've played. Professional throat-puncher Thorton joined Leland and Halbech, convinced Marburg to back off and not interfere with my mission, convinced Parker to help me uncover Alpha Protocol (which really screwed with me in the server room, I kept avoiding the enemies and looking for computers to hack when I really had to kill all the enemies), got Scarlet to confess and then be my handler for the rest of the mission, handcuffed Westridge, knocked Leland the gently caress out (god drat that was a satisfying scene to watch), and rode away on the boat feeling like one bad mother. I've never done ANY of that in previous play-throughs.

Well drat, I tried to play nice on that run, but I guess Thorton was just that rear end in a top hat who befriends Russian crackheads who run after him with a knife but kills friendly marines. Maybe I'll change that on my fourth run.

Also, I never had a confrontation with Westridge or anything during the final mission. I don't even remember him getting much of a mention. What's up with that? Guess I'll just have to play differently next time?

Edit: I guess it's also a bug where bosses yell at me for killing their men, even though all I did was throat punch and tranq them all?

All just depends on how you play the last mission, who you are friends with at that point etc. etc. On my first play through he was the last boss and he had a mini gun rather than the lovely rocket launcher Leyland has. It was a total pain in the arse until I realised I could just sprint past all the soldiers and faster than the mini gun bullets and shoot him in the face.

If you want detailed spoilers on how to make this happen: Westridge will pretty much only show up if he considers you a major threat to the US as a whole (not just Alpha Protocol) and/or has a personal grudge - otherwise he just ducks out. The easiest way to accomplish this is to let Shaheed live, stay friendly with him, meet with him before you return to the Greybox, and say that you are prepared to betray the US if necessary.

Killing the US CIA agents in Rome and the US Marines in Moscow will also make him show up, regardless of Shaheed. The three ways are - betray US with Shaheed, team up with Leland, kill US agents/Marines.

That last one is a kicker, because the game can decide you've done that even if you were careful in Moscow during that one mission.

I like how you can both betray the US with Shaheed's help and kill him in the same run. I did this on one run where I tried to kill as many characters as I could. The only survivors of the story were myself, Heck, SIE, Grigori, and Hong Shi.

How'd you pull that off? I turned both Marburg (through his dossier and +10 reputation) and Parker (through the option that doesn't involve "Analysis Flawed"), and ended up with Parker and Marburg fighting each other, Parker dying, and then having to fight Marburg again. Guessing you have to turn Parker through convincing him his analysis is flawed in order to keep Marburg from showing up there?
