I thought my ideas were so clear. I wanted to make an honest post. No lies whatsoever.

I couldn't find him (I think a him) in this thread, but I was trying to find a photographer who did elaborate compositions mixing different color temp lights. I remember there was one with a fluorescent lit bathroom projecting light into a dim tungsten lit bedroom.

don't know if that's too vague...

Haha, I contacted his gallery once about buying a print before I knew that art prints were really expensive. The curator tried really hard to sell me a 5000 pound print and I had to tell her I was a 19 year old student at the time.

I haven't read every page in this thread but I thought I'd throw Thomas Hawk out there.

This guy has the uncanny ability to produce an amazing photograph from pretty much any place he's standing. His shot from the waiting line at the grocery store might be equally amazing as a sunset shot from the beaches in Florida. My personal favorites are his pattern/architecture captures.

There is a great documentary about this guy, I saw it at the Banff Film Festival this year. It's called Salt, and this guy is crazy (but awesome).

This just arrived today:

Driftless

Some amazing B&W photography of midwest Iowa. I was lucky enough to meet Danny a couple of weeks ago when we printed some of his exhibit from this book. Very timeless images. Considering you can get a used copy of the book for less than $10 it's a steal for anyone who likes documentary photography.

If you are interested and in the UK then there are some amazing tigers at flamingo land, they are kept behind a big glass screen, this picture from I went isn't awesome but it was taken at 170mm F/4.5 so you can see what a decent 300/400mm lens could get you.
