1958, 1960, 1961, and 1970 were the deadliest years of F1, with three drivers killed in each season and four in 1958. However, it's really the late 1960's and specifically the 1967 where people feel that things got especially dangerous.

Rule changes in 1967 meant that cars were suddenly very powerful (400+ HP in 400 pound race cars) with absolutely no aerodynamic aids and tire technology that absolutely sucked. It was not uncommon at this time to run an entire season on one set of tires -- that's how not sticky they were. Combine all that together and you have cars that are very difficult and very dangerous to drive. At least most of the cars had disc brakes.

poo poo, F1 was still pretty insane until the mid 90's, Senna dying woke a lot of people up.

In the mid 80's there were apparently absolutely no rules in regards to pit safety and you'll see lunatics changing tires while wearing shorts and t-shirts or running onto the starting grid as the lights go out to check someone's exploded engine, and half the courses were too old, too small for the cars, and in countries run by tinpot dictators so there were no funds for safety marshals so you burned to death if you didn't die outright running into the solid concrete wall 9 feet off the corner's apex.

In one race in '82 or '83, Nigel Mansell reversed back into his pit station because he locked up the brakes and skidded past it.

Don't forget the fuel that burned completely clear, so if there was an ignition accident, you'd see guys writhing in agony on the ground for no apparent reason.

(which is exactly what happened at the indy 500 in the 80's, forcing the addition of additives to the fuel so you could see the flames)

That's why I don't understand why they have all these races in such lovely countries? You'd think they'd convince some tracks in the US to host some F1 races so at least there would have been money around to pay for safety.

In short, false. There was a blowup, but they ran the next year. I also toured Indy recently, and those people are gigantic redneck dickbags about F1. "They said they don't wan' eat no Indiana cookin', they brought they five-star chefs with 'em." Way to draw new attractions, guys. They tried to get everyone to kiss the bricks because I guess Dale Jarrett did it a few years ago. If you don't know who that is, then go back to Africa you commie. Or whatever.

F1 will be in Austin next year. Assuming the track gets built in time.

True, but the game is less than a month old. I figured they put that section there for a reason. Personally, I'm hoping for Bathurst and Willow Springs (long shot there).

Yeah I've been having some problems with loading some cars (sometimes it'll freeze, sometimes just load forever and ever), this happens in multiplayer as well. All searching says that it's a sign RROD is coming, but I've had the same problem since Forza 3 and it hasn't happened yet so who knows?

Any time something bad happens on a 360, people say it's sign of the red rings coming. Check the files on your 360 for anything that might be corrupted. I got scared a few weeks ago when I was playing forza and my 360 froze up for no reason. I power cycled and it kept freezing at the dash, and I was getting scared. Luckily I used my computer fixing skills and took my 360 down to its base parts, power and video. No ethernet or hard drive, everything worked. Plugged in my ethernet, everything worked. Plugged in my hard drive, froze up. Turns out the mafia 2 demo I had downloaded but never played got corrupted and just that night started loving up my 360. Then later a tune file got corrupted. Just look through the files for an exclamation point.

I was thinking about kinect integration other than the horrible hold your hands in the air (but don't wave them like you just don't care or you will crash into a wall) steering.

While racing the ring, when you come around that corner where there is the long run up hill that you can pretty much go flat out, you get the sun in your eyes and its pretty hard to see.

It would be incredibly cool if you could raise your hand like you would if your actually driving and it block the sun and it make the road easier to see.

Talking of kinect, I use the bumper cam and a problem I have is I can't see anyone to my side so I'll either take someone out or wait for them to pass, but then 3 other people rudly shoot past too. Would kinect allow me to turn the camera to see what's around me in the bumper view? I know it does for the dash view.

Using the "look left" or right button doesn't work as instead of rotating left/right, it'll cut to 90 degrees left/right view, so if someone is off to my corner, say 45 degrees, it'll completly miss them.

I had to turn head tracking off as it just jerked the camera around a fair bit.

You do know that pressing the R-stick at 45deg makes you look at 45 degrees?

What additives, when? Unless I'm totally missing something, it wasn't until they recently switched from methanol to ethanol that the fuel burned with any color, and they're switching to E85 next year.

I wish they could get the actual Bathurst but supposedly Codemasters still has the rights to the Australian V8 Supercars series which includes all the tracks which means it's a no go for Forza (Like GT, they cheat by just licencing the cars instead)

Also the German DTM is still in the hands of Codebastards as well. Eurospeedway Lausitz would be a hell of a lot of fun in Forza now that I think about it (Though they already have 3 ovals with infields).

Doesn't make a huge amount of sense as Bathurst was in Shift 2 - unless it is a case of license the car or license the track - not both.

I'm trying to find a guide on what to do but most things lead to some giant spreadsheet. Do you guys tune your cars or let Forza set everything up?
