Every loving time I had to restart that event, it was because a loving SUV WOULD HIT ME. WHY THE gently caress ARE THERE SUV'S ON THE loving RING!? I tiptoed around those assholes so much when I finally ran a clean lap because they hosed me up so many times before, and they still manage to gently caress me up by holding me back just enough so that I can't even brag about my lap. Actually, I didn't have much problems with the Mercedes SUVs. I ran that race so many times (good payouts even for a very careful tiptoe around the ring) that I started to get a feel for the personalities of the drivers. The Mercedes SUVs were slow and wouldn't see you until you pulled alongside. Once you were there though, they would always see you and give you room. The Lotus drivers were the absolute best at seeing you and taking care not to hit you. The BMW drivers were aggressive, and you had to be careful that you weren't fighting them for lines or corners. But it was the two door and four door shitbox drivers that were the worst. I had more Renaults hit me than any other car. They were timid, poo poo drivers who couldn't stick to a line, didn't know where they should be, and drove right down the middle of the track, making passing difficult. Worst, they wouldn't even see you when you were ahead of them and if you didn't give them enough room, they'd run right into your back quarter panel. I loved the challenge, but man, gently caress those guys.

Getting a fast time on trackday events, or a clean lap at all for that matter, seems to be very much down to luck in general, but doubly so on the Ring. Most "normal" tracks have rather clear defined corners and are much wider to begin with, so the AI is generally rather predictable on where it's going to be most of the time. On the Ring, however, there are so many flowing bends that the AI basically ends up swiping left-right constantly, or just stays in the middle not giving a flying gently caress at all. All you can do is hope that you'll catch the AI at just the right moment where it's either inside or outside of the turn and that you carry enough speed that you can pass before it runs into you. Being caught behind a car then passing it can be a very risky situation, because even the S class can't accelerate quick enough to get away in a safe manner. I just wish the trackday AI would behave a bit more like drivers on actual trackdays, i.e. using their mirrors and actively, predictably sticking to a side when a clearly faster car approaches. It's still a lot of fun, though. What helped a lot in the end was using a souped-up Datsun 510 instead of a Viper, simply by virtue of being a smaller car with better visibility.

Boaz - the race is an open (and open ended, at this point) series, and I've decided to go with 10 bonus points each week for two categories, so as to give slower/shittier/unlucky/crashing/newer drivers a shot at "not last!" bragging rights. "Best Paint" - Does your car look like a race car with sponsor stickers and some sort of theme to the paint? "Most Creative Paint" - Go Hog Wild! ISCI - Love to have you in the Spec Series Tonight! Just to make sure I am on the list for tonight, I am replying again. Ill have to build the car this afternoon and get some testing in, and try and make some sort of respectably paint theme. I might go all Irish alchohal like my Camaro from FM3, but who knows.

Yeah, that was...rough. The funny thing is that I drive the sedan version as my daily driver, and it's nowhere NEAR as terrible as that. I'll update the standings here in a little bit. It did, I was looking at replays and then I was invited to a race. I joined just to see if it would work and it did. Fat lot of good that was though, I came in tenth when someone failed to brake for that sharp corner on catalunya.
