einTier posted:No offense, but the Prowler is exactly the kind of car that car guys really don't like. It was literally all show and no go. I'll be the first to admit it looked cool and I applaud Plymouth for taking chances and not building something that looked like every other car on the road. But they did a terrible job on executing the car. I'd seen Prowlers here and there, but never up close until one fateful day at the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg museum in Auburn, Indiana. I'd been walking through the place for an hour or two, drinking in all the history, just stunned at all of these beautiful old machines. Most of them were ACD's, but they had a few other makes in the collection as well. Then I went into this one room and sitting in the middle of it was a Prowler. And while it looked snazzy on the outside, it looked like absolute poo poo inside. After looking at several decades of ornate early-20th Century craftsmanship, all of that parts-bin late-90's Chrysler plastic was just awful in comparison. I then understood why that car was so maligned.

In highschool, like freshman or sophomore year, this kid got picked up every day in a Prowler. I was pretty jealous back in those days, but now...not so much. Was the Prowler better than the Cherokee I got picked up in? Yeah, maybe, but at least the Cherokee was what it was trying to be. Also I think there's a Prowler in GT5, but you know...standard model and good luck getting it to show up in the Used Car lot.

There are definitely things about both games that would make the opposite better, but I got tired of playing the same game(GT) over and over again. The Multiplayer and customization parts of Forza make it the game for me, and I do not see anything changing that in the near or even far future.

GT5 with spec 2.0 update, and weather. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoGpkZpry_w In case you need a refresher, here's a TVR in Forza4 from a Let's Play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKw7lPGxhPo&t=2m0s Forza hit the nail on the head with the Top Gear partnership and the Endangered Species trailer. I applaud them for getting weather into the game (though, frankly, I have no idea why anyone would choose to race on a wet track), but it pretty much looks like rear end. What the hell is going on with the side windows.. giant drops of water constantly flickering past? The rain on the windshield looks kind of cool, though it doesn't behave like water should (not that I'm suggesting the PS3 should be running a fluid simulation for each drop).

Yeah, in comparison to Forza, the GT games aren't fun at all. Do the same Sunday Cup(or whatever) races over and over and over until you can afford a car, then over and over again until you can afford the upgrades. It's just repetitive garbage compared to the "sandbox-tuning" gameplay that Forza offers. I was a huge GT fan as a kid, put hundreds of hours into GT1-3. Forza has killed any will I had to play that series.

I propose that Turn10 considers the following DLC goldmine: Forza 4 "This is your Life, Pinky the Cube" Speed Pack 1988 Ford F150 The two fuel tanks will be useful on the tracks where you have to work on an oil rig in the North Dakotan tundra. 1988 Plymouth Voyager Drive carefully or you may lose the sliding door. My parents were endlessly proud that theirs had the silver stripe along the running boards. 1992 Toyota Camry Mom's car, learned how to drive in it. Boring car but it's still running today. Good option if a mall parking lot endurance track is released. 1992 GMC Sonoma Hand-me-down from my sister to become my first car. Forza already has a little truck though so the community may complain. 1992 Isuzu Trooper Hell yeah, company car. I'm not sure the tires of this car ever touched dirt. Good thing though I guess, since didn't the Troopers tip over all the time? 1993 Toyota Celica Borrowed this from my friend's brother to drive to prom. I still love this car. I'd genuinely be excited if it ever showed up. Long live flip-up headlights. 1999 Hyundai Accent WITH NO OPTIONS WHATSOEVER Replaced the Sonoma after it died of neglect. Pregnant roller-skate of a car, but it worked. Curious if even Forza could make it fun to drive, though. Goddamn U-Haul Truck Moved me cross-country from Virginia to Austin. Just...c'mon, just do it. Put it in the game. 1966 Pontiac GTO Dad's midlife crisis car. I was pleasantly surprised by the '65 already in the game, but it'd be cool if this one was in there too. 2005 Subaru Baja Turbo There is already an El Camino and a bunch of Legacy's in the game, just mash them together to give me my current car. That's how development works, right? It'd be a great option for any future tracks requiring the transport of a small table from one end to the other. Who wouldn't want to pay $7 for this?

I was looking at using the Genesis for the NASA spec race, but even at stock it doesn't meet the power/weight limitations? In Forza the weight is listed as 3549 lbs., and 306 hp. That means it needs to be 306 * 12.2 = 3733.2 lbs. Is there any way to add weight or cut power aside from upgrading parts? Or is that car just not going to be usable? edit: VVVVVVVV that's too funny. In the NASA rules they say it includes driver weight, so for the Genesis you could feasibly have someone who is 184 lbs. be driving. But in the BMW M3, there's no way, it's 3219 lbs. stock vs. 3916 lbs. needed (321 hp). You'd need three extra passengers at that rate. nogic fucked around with this message at 23:47 on Dec 1, 2011 |

Jabs, can you double-check your Power-to-Weight methodology? The Genesis Coupe I am trying to tune cannot meet the 12.2 ratio. That would mean at 306hp, my minimum weight would be over 3700 pounds. What am I supposed to do, put a Datsun in the trunk? edit: holy gently caress nogic give me my goddamn brain back - I forgot to refresh the thread and am doing the same drat thing
