So does GISH still do group races at all? I stopped getting invites after like a week and I got probated from the forums for a month, but this game owns and I'd really like to do the alcohol fueled races more often. Hell I've probably gotten kicked out of GISH in the past couple weeks since I've been playing nothing but MW3.

Hi all. I know I'm a little late to the party, but I really love Forza and I wanted to get in on some Goon-Based-Clubbing. I applied for membership to both LLJK and GISH but I don't know what's required to actually become a member. Some help would be great. Thanks. Also, you won't get to drive my sweet Fiat Punto unless you let me in.

Falken posted:I think it may be time for the clubs to disband and become one big club? Definitely. LLJK is usually barren when I'm online on weekday evenings. It's been at 85-ish members for a while, despite probably a half dozen users in this thread saying they have sent invites. Sounds like GISH is similarly dead. Any thoughts on a name/tag? I'm happy to volunteer to start the thing.

I would like to be in GTCC myself. My GT is omgitsbees I haven't been playing nearly as much because i've just been busy with other things plus Skyrim, like a lot of other people.

You can suck as much sucking as you want, you just need to be active, is the only requirement I know of. If we kicked out everyone that sucked, there would be no one in the club.

I've barely seen any activity in GISH the last few weeks, but that could simply be the result of so many great games coming out in the last little while. Hopefully it picks back up.

Hey Jabs, is there a reason that the goonspec races are at the exact same time and day as the weekly GTCC races? I'd like to race in both, but I'm forced to choose.

Not to be all serious business about internet racecars, but GTCC isn't supposed to be the generic goon group, and it's not the overflow for people who missed getting into LLJK. It's a club for bros to crash into Phancypants every Wednesday and make dick joke. Dudes have been racing together for years, and while new members are certainly encouraged, we'd rather have a smaller club whose members are more active, than a full one where 90% of them are playing Skyrim all the time. If folk want to join for our weekly homoerotic book club, that's cool, but don't just pile in because the other clubs are dead, that's not how GTCC works. For what it's worth, you aren't likely to get booted for being a slowpoke, but you might get kicked if our racist administrator takes a disliking to you.

I can never join PhancyPants stupid lobby anyways because he lives in Canada, in the part where its snows all the time and there's polar bears. I always ran him off the track in GT5 though, that was good times.

I dunno, all I want is a club where there's ad-hoc races going on a few evenings per week, just by virtue of having enough people online that it's worth throwing a lobby together. Also, the less gimmicky poo poo races the better.

I'm not in one of the goon clubs and I still get invites to their races. Start up a private lobby and start inviting everyone who is playing Forza 4 at the time. Another option is to make a post in this thread, with a set time that you'll be getting races together. Hangout in the IRC channel too. Don't wait for someone else to get something together.

For the Goon series I just built the RX8 quick with the correct mods, I hope, and aero and ran a 1:17:470 with a quick tune. Ill try a non aero tune too, although a couple of those cresting sweepers probably need the aero. My Pi is 450 and i have no engine mods and weigh 3101, so I hope thats all kosher for the tune. Ill even gift and rx8 with the same specs for inspection if need be.

Turn-10 is giving away December DLC codes throughout this weekend, so people should be posting impressions of the new cars soon. It kinda sucks though that the cars are now up on Xbox Live, but Season Pass owners can't download them, yet others have a chance of getting the cars for free. Of course there is nothing stopping Season Pass owners from winning a DLC code either, but it would be cool if getting the packs a few days early was a perk of being a Season Pass owner.

I have been talking to a few of the active LLJK members and the idea of merging lljk and GISH, and if they want us to SAEG into lljk or another club has come up a few times. Personally, I think that it would be a good idea to do so. Also, I really haven't seen much of most of lljk in races lately. Mostly the people I have seen who have been largely active are: Logue(Not sure if he is in lljk or not) Cubivore Me(Atticus Eisherr) Adam Himself Humpdumper And a few other goons from time to time, but these seem to be the ones who are around most often playing Forza in random races. If I have missed you, by the way, I apologize. I do not mean to slight anyone who I have missed. I am just listing the most active goons I have seen. As for piling into GTCC, I don't think that is a good choice, as GTCC is a lot different of a group than lljk and gish. I wouldn't want to upset either group dynamic by combining them. I think that maybe, it might be time for a change in leadership so that the active members can do some pruning, as well as merging of a few of the clubs into one, populated club. Once again though, I don't mean to offend or slight anyone. I just figured I would post some of my observations. I really love being in lljk and racing against my fellow goons so I would really hate to see the group die. Comments or concerns from other members are greatly appreciated.

gently caress it. I'm around, and clearly plan on being around at least weekly for a long time - I realized the other day that I really missed having a weekly race series on my schedule. First it was NASCAR 2003 Series, and then later, a group of guys in rFactor. So, what I'm saying is that there's an nth option now. After loving around for 20 minutes trying to find an alphabetical combination that worked and didn't suck... [AUGR] was (finally) available. "Auger" seems to fit our collective driving style, too, if you don't mind co-opting a term from aviation, I guess. Apps open, gents. I'm as guilty as anyone else of being derailed from goon racing, so if we're restructuring the clubs that's cool since I miss being poo poo in Datsuns The only issue I might run into is timezones - 3am GMT race starts, for example, are non-starters for me. I'd be happy enough with ad-hoc racing through the week though! If SAEG are joining up then I'll apply when I get the chance (tomorrow night probably).
