I totally agree with this. I enjoy wild speculation as much as the next guy, but this Lipton guy sounds like even more of a quack than Graham Hancock. It's as though he thinks "What the Bleep Do We Know!?" was as comprehensive and in depth as one can go on the matter.

Seriously, what an abortion of a show. that was awkward as gently caress and Joe is a hero for pulling the plug on it and telling them that it sucked to their faces

Tara Lynn Fox: I love the way black guys smell.
Iliza Schlesinger: Wait, how do black guys smell?
Tara: Oh my god! I don't know, they just, like, when I cuddle up against them, they just, like...
Iliza: Like on a bus?

I dunno, I'm a big fan of all the Deathsquad podcasts and Icehouse Chronicles is 5-6 of people from those podcasts plus random people like SteveO or Doug Benson and the atmosphere is they're all just bullshitting in the green room with mics in front of them. It's my top favorite Deathsquad podcast right now, that one episode just sucked because that bitch was retarded.. it was nothing to do with the actual podcast

Agreed, I've listened to every Ice House podcast and they were all pretty good.

I'm waiting for Redban to get off his rear end an upload the one with Nick Thune, Doug Benson, Josh Gross and a few other people.

I guess redban is actually pretty busy lately, and it's been floating around the joerogan forums that it's why his girlfriend broke up with him (no clue if that's true). I can't imagine he's putting in a shitload of time like 80hrs/week but he is the only person that is running all these podcasts and with the new Icehouse studios I'm sure that's been hectic and time-consuming. He's been really behind with everything and should just have yellowban be his assistant with getting things up on time so it's all not a week+ late.
Also did anyone catch the Bone Zone #5 episode?

I saw that it was floating around for a minute, but didn't snag it when it was. It's good to know someone has it. I would throw that poo poo up on youtube in a second, dude. Doug Stanhope calling in and Brendon Walsh completely shattered potentially killing his career? People need to see this poo poo!

I had to find a link to it on the Rogan forums since they blocked it, but the Daryl Wright/porn star one wasn't nearly as bad as I expected.

Does anyone have a link to the Bone Zone #5? By all accounts that one was a complete train wreck and they immediately banned the guy that re-posted it on Rogan's board.

Still catching up on old episodes, I stumbled across what sounded like a rape confession from rogan. Podcast #60 about an hour and ten minutes in.

As he related his experience about how this adult woman took his innocence, it's clear that the experience really shook him up.

I still like the podcast, but I would be happy if I never had to hear again about McKenna and mushrooms being: the key to human evolution, the basis of Christianity, the subject of cave paintings, the basis of Christmas, etc.

Comedy and MMA is basically the only thing I listen for, other when they actually have a really interesting guest (like Bourdain or that Vice TV dude). Granted, I'm fascinated by both those subjects but goddammit Joe has some really loving dumb opinions on basically EVERYTHING ELSE.

It's a lot like Michael Moore films, it's all fine and dandy but as soon as he touches on a subject that you actually know something about you realize how wrong he is/how much he's skimming the surface. I literally cannot skip a podcast where they start talking about Julian Assange et al, they are just so goddamn ignorant.

well, you have to take everything they say with a grain of salt. The podcast started out as just a ustream where him and brian were making snowflakes fall on their head and watching youtube videos. It's not a radio show where he's in the position of he's there because he thinks his voice needs to be heard because he knows everything.. and he says multiple times that he doesn't fully know about everything he talks about (or maybe even know very very little), they're just the opinions he has like everyone else. You may think his opinions are "really loving dumb", but they're coming from a genuine place

Fair enough, I like his conspiracy theories, crazy mushroom mckenna, ancient alien talk because fun based theories which are an alternate take than what you grow up learning yet they're crazy like they can be dismissed as fake either.

I forgot to post back when I listened to it, but did it seem to anyone else that Joe called out a few of his guests during the show? I don't feel like going back through multiple hours of episode, but I feel like during the Doug Benson episode he got him to admit to taking fake liquor shots and generally being kind of phony. I may or may not have been under some influences at the time, so maybe I was reading into the dialogue a certain way...but I don't remember reading anyone comment on it here. I feel like he called someone else out (in a relatively affable way) another time as well...maybe Bert?

I just listened to that podcast the other day and I didn't really feel like he was 'called out' or Joe gave him much poo poo, but I was working and not paying full attention. I think it's pretty disingenuous to do that, but on the other hand it is Doug's job and maybe he doesn't like to get wasted on stage.

edit: also in regards to all things beings said over and over again: I agree to an extent. For the past 6 or 7 months I could get through all podcasts and be very entertained, but recently I've been turning them off halfway or if I get annoyed with what they are talking about. It still is free entertainment and I'm thankful for Joe and co. for keeping me entertained for hours at work.

Another work listener here...I do really enjoy having Joe and co. in the background while I do other stuff. They do say some misinformed/dumb poo poo from time to time, but its mostly forgivable since Joe will often adjust his opinions or admit when he was wrong. One thing I think is interesting is in the recent episodes he seems to be acknowledging that all our fancy smartphones and tech come at a price mostly suffered by poor people in other countries, whereas a year ago he seemed to have a more "isn't technology great" singularity type mindset.

The episode with Ronda Rousey and Eddie Bravo is pretty good. My favorite moment is Eddie addressing Ronda: "So how do you feel about conspiracy theories?" I thought she seemed really cool as well, I hope Cyborg doesn't maul her when they inevitably battle.
