DON'T DO THIS

Also, not in time to make this year's best of, but a prime candidate for 2012, I just heard Dave explain the problems with the booking of Rock/Cena vs Truth/Miz by comparing it of the archetypal structure of the episodes of the old Popeye The Sailorman cartoon. It was enough to make me forgive Bryan for being lazy with putting up the Christmas show.

Karl Stern was spot on: Vinny has great comedic timing, he just lets Bryan boss him around too much to display it. As he was going through this absolutely ridiculous list of things that bar of whatever the gently caress it was didn't contain, while being drunk as hell, he still managed to subtly interject "no joy". That made me crack up.

I was disappointed that a lot of people (Brent especially) didn't answer the phone, but I guess that's what they get for doing the show at 2 pm.

Tell me we at least get drunken bothering of Lance Storm. The first time they put him on the list was gold, with Vinny's drunken rant on his voicemail and then stumbling apology when he called back.

It's too bad they already released that Best of 2011 compilation because I thought the WOR from the other day was full of great moments like Dave Meltzer recently in the hospital room with his son and getting annoyed when his son wanted to watch Popeye instead of raw. Then he started talking about booking Popeye.

Observer and F4 recaps of Victory Road 2009 and 2011 come to mind.
Sammartino's interviews are great.
Any of the shows that discuss World of Hurt, Memphis Heat or Urban Wrestling Federation.

That, plus my standard answer of the review of the BARBED WIRED CHRISTMAS TREE~! edition of Impact. It's the December 21st 2007 B&V show. It's seasonal too. In that spirit, you could also check out the Christmas shows, if drunken ramblings and unfortunate phone calls are the sort of thing that appeals to you.

Bryan has apparently just come to the realization that it is not a good idea for a 140 pound man to start drinking on an empty stomach at 2 pm, proceed to get totally wasted, eat an enormous amount of food afterwards, go out on a loving boat and then try to do another radio show a few hours later with no sleep in between. I guess there's hope for him yet.
