Any and all European goons should check out Dunk Festival in Belgium this year. http://www.dunkfestival.be/ My band (Beware of Safety) and friends (If These Trees Could Talk) will be playing with a host of other groups discussed in this thread. This Will Destroy You, Pelican, 65daysofstatic, Sleepmakeswaves, Samuel Jackson Five, etc. It would be awesome to meet a few people out there! Here's the lineup poster:

What's the deal with ASMZ? Got two new albums by them, same songs but different titles. What's the happening?

Are you talking about "The West Will Rise Again"? They were selling vinyls at their last show and I picked up a copy... no way to play it of course. Right now they're touring, and they have new material on the horizon. I don't what you mean by albums with the same songs and different titles though, but they never have been very good at keeping one name or another.

Any other goons going to go see GY!BE in San Francisco? I'm going to be seeing four of the five nights because . I'm really looking forward to it. ADDITIONALLY, I've been getting into Esmerine, another GY!BE related band (I think Moya connects them). Check them out, marimba driven post rock is a concept. Thank you post-rock thread for introducing me to té. These guys are simply amazing and pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Maybe someday I will warm up to the EITS school of thought, but I've been trying for a few years now and it just doesn't work for me, I guess. I'm watching té's second dvd right now and I wish I knew what these guys were talking about as at least the bassist seems to be a pretty funny guy. Then again, from what I understand the rhythm guitarist likes to talk about his anime t-shirts, so...yeah.

Te are great except when they break my music player because of their loving paragraph-long song titles.

You might be disappointed then to know that the bassist left the band last year. They found a replacement though and have a new EP out next week, with 3 new tracks and 9 live songs. They just uploaded a video for the first track yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFpmJpVPVe4

They actually played a couple of shows in the US around 2006, there's a short live DVD on their orange EP of them playing in front of about 10 people. They're on the same label in Japan as 65dos, GYBE, ASMZ, Do Make Say Think and This Town Needs Guns, so I'm surprised they haven't been to the US/Europe with any of those already.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Definitely send me a PM or an email to the band if you're gonna make it out. Anybody in LA should come out on March 3rd to The Satellite (formerly Spaceland); we'll be there with our buddies Junius who are incidentally my contribution to this thread. Junius - Stargazers and Gravediggers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMaEoNo3h9U I usually describe them as post-rock meets Tears for Fears, which is either an immediate sell or an immediate turn off.

ICA posted:Rolo Tomassi sucked live, got the name of our city wrong. Arseholes. I wish that woman would not sing. Or scream. Actually she's good at singing, but the screaming ruins it. The band themselves are great, some of the tightest musicians I've ever heard for people so young, but then she opens her mouth and ruins everything.

ICA posted:Rolo Tomassi sucked live, got the name of our city wrong. Arseholes. poo poo, really? As in they didn't play the songs correctly or you just didn't like them because they got the name of your city wrong? Every performance I've seen of theirs is basically spot on. They are almost totally removed from Post-rock music though, so let me move away from that and nthing my support for BRONTIDE. Sans Souci is amazing, and so is Coloured Tongues. I can't wait to see where both Rolo and Brontide go in the future.
