Summer can't come fast enough. :swoon: The only thing I don't like about the poster is how the "V" is just kind of floating there while the other letters are grounded, but that's just kind of nitpicky.

While we're talking about it, here's the "Brave" poster that debuted a couple of days ago.

Like the last poster, the only bad part of it is the generic-as-hell tagline.

I remember doing a cinema check when the trailer for this was playing and was thinking "wait what happened to Kristen Stewart?" great two snow white movies coming out about three months apart....i just know our customers are going to get the two mixed up and complain.
This poster looks like it belongs to a direct to DVD movie and the dwarf to her right looks board as hell.

Seems appropriate, because the trailer looks like it belongs to a direct-to-DVD movie as well.

In my case it's the Mona Lisa-esque expression on his face. I really have no idea what kind of emotion he's trying to portray there. He probably doesn't know either.

Man I don't get mondotees deal at all. They make these really beautiful, intricate, interesting posters and then limit it to runs of like, 400, which sell out in under a half hour of being put on their website, no reprints ever. They're missing out on a ridiculous amount of cash right there.

Just because something is commercial art doesn't mean the artist is in it solely for money, see Bill Waterston for example.

Huh?

He's holding the lamp up with his left hand and brandishing it with his right. The rest of the character is out of the frame.

I feel like stupid for typing that out because it's so innately obvious as soon as you look at it.

The perspective is totally wrong on those arms. You don't get the impression they're both attached to the same body at all. Just go ahead and try to arrange your forearms into a pose like that, with your upper elbow receding behind the lower while still touching an object held in the lower hand. It's impossible.

I agree it's a knit-picky poster to complain about on the grand scheme of terrible posters, but he's got a point. That anatomy is busted.

My favorite use of review quotes on a poster is from the movie If...
I can't seem to find it online, but if you have the Criterion edition, it's in the booklet.
One side has a list of quotes praising the film and the other has quotes calling the movie vile and whatnot. Somewhere on it it tells the viewer to see the movie and decide for them self.

It's clever how it makes people watch the site like hawks and make snap impulse buys. They don't have to worry about stock piling up, but their prints are so nice I doubt that would happen anyway.
Looking at some of the ones I've missed though is bumming me out, guess I'll have to settle for rastering some of the higher res previewd.

This isn't a poster thing, but the Matrix films did a similar thing with their commentaries. One commentary was two philosophers who really liked the films, and the other was two critics who thought they all sucked.

It seems the poster has a lot to do with this movie "The Artist", because according to imdb:"A male nurse steals some of one of his patient's drawings and makes money with them." It's a shame it has been over shadowed by the other movie, because I can't find many photos.
