That was my thought, I have seen some on eBay and Craigslist for $150 and more so I was wondering what you all thought. Thanks!

Aatrek posted:But will I even be able to use 3G in Canada from a Verizon phone that doesn't have a GSM simcard? That's a fair question, I thought Bell and Telus both got rid of their CDMA networks in order to run HSPA+. I guess if there are no other CDMA networks then you'd need a worldphone to actually use the network. I found this: http://businessportals.verizonwireless.com/international/naroaming.htm The map shows three colors, corresponding to Canadian Broadband and Canadian Enhanced Services Rate and Coverage Areas and no coverage. It looks like the roaming rate is the same, leading me to believe that only the dark pink areas may not be included in the Canada plan. I'd still recommend calling and hopefully you get someone who actually knows what's up. Mark Larson fucked around with this message at 01:38 on Feb 28, 2012 |

I picked up galaxy nexus a little over a week ago and have been loving the drat thing (other than the data outage late last week...) ...until today. Phone was fully charged when I left for work this morning, and a few minutes ago I hear it sound the low battery tone . Check battery usage - 11%, 2hr 53m on battery. Cell standby using 67% of charge, Android OS 22%. I'm in an area with great reception so that shouldn't be an issue. I've been having great battery life until today, what the hell happened?

I've got Verison FiOS for cable and internet at my house. Is there any way to get a new verizon wireless plan and add that to my existing bill? I'm curious because I've never had any problems or complaints with Fios, and despite my wife having AT&T, I'd really like the galaxy nexus. (hopefully i can get a drop on the amazon deal). Plus ATT as a corporation pisses me off with their throttling policies. Looks like my wife would have to switch to a family plan on ATT, and the 2-year cost savings of adding a line would eat the cost of a new, unlocked international galaxy nexus. Might as well go with Verizon if I'm not tethered to a particular company.

Yes, the service you are looking for is called One Bill. I have FiOS TV, FiOS Internet, and Verizon wireless all one one bill (I do not have a home phone number.) At the time I did it, I was actually able to get triple play pricing discounts even though I don't have home phone service. I pay ~$249 /month for TV (Ultimate Tier with all premiums, 1 HD MR-DVR and 1 SD Box), 35/35 internet, and Wireless (450 peak min, 250 text package, smartphone data.) Just one bill to pay every month, it's nice. bull3964 fucked around with this message at 18:49 on Feb 28, 2012 |

Awesome news! I've had my 2 year upgrade for a week or so now and I was willing to wait months for the price of the GNex to go down to use it, but it looks like I won't have to wait very long anymore! Looks like I'm dropping $200 on the GNex tomorrow!

If you have a normal upgrade, it's currently $230 on Amazon Wireless, so that sale will be a nice little discount still. For new accounts, it's $99. Do remember to check before paying Verizon's price when you're upgrading and especially if you're adding a line, they usually offer better deals.

Hope VZW enjoys paying FedEx for shipping, since it'll arrive on Friday.

Just pulled the trigger on the Nexus for $199.99. On the website before the sale it was 289.99 so I was hoping to see $100 off bring it to $189.99. Oh well. No problems here, and I loved seeing this:

I got $60 for my Incredible. That was with two silicone cases, a charger, the original 2 gig card and all the original packaging minus the upc on the box. It was cosmetically fair and the battery was on its way out. I got what I wanted and the guy I sold it to felt the deal was fair.

I've been a T-Mobile customer since Voicestream, have had my Nexus 1 for a year now, and just bought the Galaxy Nexus for $99 at Amazon along with the 4gb $30 plan. I hope my coverage improves and Verizon is easy to work with. Oh, and I hope the Galaxy Nexus is awesome.

For what it's worth, a friend of mine's had an N1 on T-Mobile and he struggles to get coverage where I am doing just fine with my Galaxy Nexus. Especially out in the sticks - we were out in backwoods Kentucky going on distillery tours, and I was still getting EVDO coverage while he couldn't even make calls.

In terms of bulk coverage, Verizon has everyone beat. Add in the free CDMA roaming, and there's pretty much nowhere in the US where you won't get a signal.

I think Nashville is experiencing a data outage. I had LTE last night when I went to sleep. Woke up this morning with voice service but no data service. 3G doesn't appear to work either. I've rebooted my gnex and no dice.

I'm almost considering switching to Verizon due to Sprint's lovely carrot-on-a-stick attitude towards 4G, except it seems like it is going to be a lot more expensive than what I have now. What are people's typical bills after fee's/taxes/insurance for the 450 minute/1000 minute or unlimited text/ 2GB data? Also, those who switched from Sprint, is it a night and difference between speeds on 3G?

Right now Sprint gives me a 10% "employee" discount just because I switched to them from US Celllular.
