So apparently Colt Cabana is going to be on the WTF podcast with Marc Maron talking about stand-up comedy. I look forward to this!

Just watched WM9 with the podcast in the background. Wow was that a lovely Wrestlemania. Is there a worse one?

I think 11 is way worse than 9. 9 is remembered because of Hogan and the setting, but 11 has Bret Hart's worst match, Shawn Michaels not being able to get anything out of Diesel (in addition to giant vs. small guy having the heel/face dynamics reversed), and the rest of the card is the standard godawful mid 90s midcard. The main event is fine considering who is in it, but the main event of the biggest show of the year shouldn't be "fine."

The show also had several audio/visual mishaps, including the one right before Diesel cut a stinker of a promo, one of the weakest openers in history (Allied Powers vs. The Blu Brothers) and I'd have to watch it again to figure out whether Bam Bam vs. LT was a better match than JJ vs. Razor. I mean, gently caress. At least it had a cool logo. I'll give it that. But the logo makes you think Undertaker and Undertaker... fought King Kong Bundy in a stinker. Had the WWF, "Run on Diesel Power" any longer in 1995 I think I would have stopped watching wrestling and never went back.

This most recent podcast was hilarious to me for some reason. Maybe it was Dave insisting they figure out who Sam Adams was.

What annoyed me most about the latest AoW was Colt not quite getting what the Young Bucks said, I don't doubt bumping rattles your head but they were saying they actually HIT their heads whenever they bumped. Very big difference I believe.

Perigryn posted:Lance Storm touched on that recently and flat out said if they're hitting their heads all the time on back bumps, they've learned how to work wrong. And from the several wrestling schools I've been to, every trainer there would agree. Actually, from the little school I helped out at in Kingston, if you didn't tuck your head in and kept hitting it on the mat from bumps, you usually never got passed the bumps. No rope running until you knew how to bump.

Bryan Alvarez posted:In a follow-up to last night's fun and exciting Observer Radio, I have been in communication via Twitter with JOE PARK, ESQ., regarding the disappearance of his brother Chris. According to Mr. Park, the reason he is Joe PARK and his brother is Chris PARKS is because Wikipedia (and Mike Tenay, James Mitchell, and numerous others) is incorrect. The family's real last name is Park. Ironically, a day earlier, regarding a different subject, he had posted that Wikipedia was never wrong. I guess you learn something new every day. For the record, in terms of Abyss history, he was listed officially in TNA for a long time as "Chris Park", and in fact, when he used to wear that jumpsuit, it had "PARK" written on the back, not "PARKS". However, as noted above, the announcers and others kept calling him "Chris Parks" repeatedly, and in fact, on Impact Thursday, when his brother first showed up and told the security guy that he was "Joe Park", the security guy said, "I'll get this checked out for you, Mr. Parks." Oh TNA.
