"Family" reunions featuring Christina Ricci and Wionna Rider. Michael Keaton will be there as well but no-one will acknowledge him.

They were never married though (although, technically neither are Tim and Helena) And yeah, I don't think Lisa Marie has done poo poo since Tim broke up with her. Edit: Her first movie since Planet of the Apes will be Rob Zombie's Lords of Salem. Went from Kid Friend Fake Goth to R-Rate Fake Goth.

One of the better jokes in Life's Too Short (the new Ricky Gervais show) came when Gervais and Johnny Depp were arguing. Depp: "I'm in the new movie by Tim Burton. And guess who my leading lady is?" Gervais: "Helena Bonham Carter?" Depp: [shocked pause] "How did you know? Who told you?" Gervais: "Um...shot in the dark."

I feel like Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton just sit around on the couch listening to Joy Division and Bauhaus all day until Johnny Depp shows up and they can make a movie.

Maybe Burton actually has no interest in working with Depp and Carter but they always annoy him into it like children. Carter/Depp: Tim, make another weird dark movie and cast us in it! Burton: I'm actually interested in this light-hearted Will Ferell piece and thi- Carter/Depp: TTTTTIIIIIIMMMMMM!!!!!! Burtin: Uhh. Fine. This allows Depp and Carter to carry on their torrid extramarital affair discreetly. I mean, they must spend A LOT of time together while Tim is doing director stuff.

Yes and David Bowie makes up songs insulting people when they talk to him at restraunts. Also Patrick Stewart has the power to "see everything".

TheBigBudgetSequel posted:The character posters are even worse. What really bugs me is that the characters in the actual film, besides Depp of course, don't really look like typical Burton characters. The posters make them look that way, and it's loving cheap and lovely. It was not, it was done by another team. However this film is based on a long-running British soap opera that Depp is a huge fan of. I haven't seen it but I hear it is pretty good and has a distinct campy tone and that is what they're trying to get across.

There are hundreds and hundreds of different comps and many many directions that they go, then meeting after meeting happens and the production team along with the executives choose which direction they want to go and then they cut and paste and spice and dice. If there is any connection to those films it is probably due to the taste of the filmmakers, not any kind of direct correlation to past films. I also should remind everyone that these are designed to be one-sheet size and there is a big difference when you view it that way as opposed to your screen. I'm not really defending it because I don't really like this very much, I'm just saying what happens.

Yeah I just went over and asked, someone said it was British and they are wrong and just made me wrong. So gently caress you, coworker.quote:Dark Shadows is an American-produced gothic soap opera that originally aired weekdays on the ABC television network, from June 27, 1966 to April 2, 1971. The show was created by Dan Curtis. The story bible, which was written by Art Wallace, does not mention any supernatural elements. It was unprecedented in daytime television when ghosts were introduced about six months after it began.

That's what I mean though. They look like the recent taste of the filmmaker and it makes sense to make them look like that--Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland both made a lot of money. Unfortunately they both suck, and so do those posters. They have the bright hair/pale face thing going on that Depp had in Alice, but for all of the characters. Unless they're going for some '70s pop-art vibe, but even then it comes off as pretty garish. scary ghost dog posted:I doubt Tim Burton cares enough about the movie posters to make sure they perfectly represent his movie.
