The more I look at it, the more I think it looks fantastic actually. Now that cars have all these complex surfaces you can't really appreciate the design in a 2D picture. You're missing a lot of the design elements. edit: For example, the headlights on the 1 are more on the side of the car than the front. Hard to tell in a front shot, it gets distorted. You have no sense of depth. ynotony fucked around with this message at 21:12 on May 18, 2012 |

Not a new car, but this hardly warrants a thread and I can't contain myself so I'll post it here. I drove a 2010 Nissan GT-R at work today. OH. MY. GOD. What a loving machine. What a glorious, amazing, frightening beast. The punch from 1-2 was like a shotgun blast. The faster you turned, the harder it gripped. The rev matching on downshift made my dick leak. I mean, I don't even...it's just....gently caress it I can't explain it. If you ever get the opportunity, drive one. Pay money to do so if you have to. Just do it. Thank me later.

First test numbers for the 2013 GT500 http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupes/1205_2013_ford_shelby_gt500_first_test/ 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds 0-100mph in 7.7 seconds 11.6@125.7mph quarter mile. That quarter mile slots it in nicely between the 458 italia and the mercedes SLS AMG for strait line speed. It sounds like it's a lot easier to handle than the old car as well.

That's my backup car in case the 2013 Fusion isn't all it's cracked up to be, and I think I'd be pretty happy with it. Only things that bugged me were the parking brake hangs down too close to the dead pedal and the turn signal/wiper switches are too close to the paddle shifters. The salesman wanted so badly to compare the two but since the Fusion doesn't exist yet there's not much he could say.

thesurlyspringKAA posted:You people are all crazy for liking the 05 model over the recent one. Straight up crazy. Absolutely. The 05+ cars were definitely a step in the right direction, but they just look so tame and innocent compared to the newer models. I never really considered Mustangs a major "presence" car since they're so ubiquitous, but seeing the newer, and especially higher performing models on the road really get my attention. I think Ford's overall design language has come into its own lately, and while Dodge or Chevy have done decently well in creating sufficiently muscle-y looking cars the new Mustang is the only stand-out masterpiece. It's a car that will still look great 20 years from now.

Renault Alpine A110-50. To be unveiled the day after tomorrow in Monaco. It's based on the RenaultSport Megane Trophy and is powered by the same mid-mounted 3.5 litre V6, which is good for 400 french horses and 420Nm. The engine (as far as I can find, this could be idle speculation for all I know) is a Y4V derivative, which is essentially a re-badged Nissan VQ35DE. The transmission is the same 6-speed sequential unit that the Megane Trophy uses. http://d.yimg.com/nl/autos/site/player.html#lang=fr-FR&vid=29371440 Very short teaser video, with cheesy music. However it does leave the impression that the picture is not a render but an actual photo of the car. Either way it's porn on wheels in my opinion. Why can't all cars be beautiful like this?
