Shardok posted:

Some normal class skills are cross-class (i.e. Fire Boon being available to both Mage and Sorcerer) too. So he might just keep those. I do believe most of the basic damage/affinity/boon spells are available as Sorcerer too.

When you change vocations you keep everything that's shared between the two regardless of whether you could normally have them at the new vocation's rank.

Sorcerer gets most of the basic mage spells, so there's not a lot of reason to not swap him over.

Wait what? RP generation is based on the level of pawns you take or do yo juts mean you spend so little?

I didn't really get a lot of RP when I played last night. Is everyone just getting RP on their pawns getting hired?

An easy way to cheese them, I found, is if you jump on their backs, they'll stop whatever it is they're doing and do a back slam in hopes of crushing you, you can jump off them though while they are falling and they will lay on their backs for a couple seconds. Enough time to get in a couple of strong hit, and enough time for mages to do a little nuking.

I think it's based on what you do with the pawns, because yesterday while playing, and talking with some goons, one of them said he was only getting about 100 RC per rental, I then rent his pawn, take out a litch and a chimera, return it, and he then receives 3000 RC.

Just murdered three of those in a row inside the ancient quarry, best bet is to get yourself enchanted with fire then lob fire arrows at it's face from a distance, try to have an escape route if it gets too close. They are pretty stupid so you can hide in another room for a second or two and they'll wander off giving you time to cover their face in flaming arrows again.

Merchant at ancient quarry has some pricy and fancy gear. Some of it is from that "Berserk" anime apparently? He sells a nice sword for 109k with 199 strength. You may need to clean the three ogres out of the quarry for him though.

Also rank 5 assassin is when the core skill for double jump opens up. Now I just need some good daggers.

For people that are wondering about Assassins, don't just use daggers and bow, mix it up and have your pawn carry the other two weapons you can use and swap them in and out when you need to. I'm running around with a sword and bow right now, but can switch on the fly to shield or daggers when I need to.

Leave Gran Soren, and head dead west of the "Everfall" map marker. You should run into some miner's huts down that middle road, and a road going south from them into the quarry.

v ChibiSoma, leave gran soren from the north and kill saurians snoozing on that beach for moneys and XP, buy/upgrade gear from the blacksmith and go murdalize them monsters in your way.

Most shops will unlock new stuff after certain points in the storyline, as follows:

Stage 1: Start until Off With Its Head
Stage 2: Until First Wyrm Hunt Quest
Stage 3: Until Come to Court
Stage 4: Until Trials and Tribulations Or Griffin's Bane
Stage 5: Until Reward and Responsibility
Stage 6: Until The Final Battle
Stage 7: Until New Game +

In Gran Soren there are the following merchants:

Madeleine - After you finish her quest over in Cassardis. She'll have a wide array of items and even some decent armors/weapons/etc. Depending on what idol you give her in a different quest she'll unlock different items. Do not give her a forgery, you get practically nothing from it.
Reynard The Travelling Peddler - Good luck on finding him, I've yet to have any luck with the dude. He has a bunch of randomness too. Depending on what items you give him during his quest he'll unlock different items too.
Caxton's Armory - We all know him I presume. He has a quest like Madeleine for an idol. He unlocks different items than she does, so it's up to you there... I'm not listing all the differences here.
Camelia's Apothecary - Not much use.
Fournival Rarities Shop - Look for him at his manor or at the black cat or between the two depending on time of day. Save the Maker's Finger for something that's a real challenge. Maybe it works on Ur-Dragon... He has some armor as well depending on stage, but mostly he sells tools and curatives and ferrystones/wakestone shards.
Mountebank - He sells gold weapons that you've unlocked through quests. As well as some outfits. Also has skeleton keys and wakestone shards if ya need those. He's at the Black Cat.

Other than that, try exploring other areas of the world as some merchants are found in some weird places...

There is a quote somewhere (in the OP maybe) that gushes over combos and timing swings and whatnot with a warrior. I'm level 13 and no matter how I press buttons, Y only ever does 1 kind of attack and X always always does the same 3 hit combo.

So unless it changes later or I need to buy a skill or something, warrior combat gets stale pretty fast (I don't care, but some people might).

Edit:

bleep posted:

Varying the timing of attacks and adding pauses will give you completely separate attacks, you can cancel into block then attack out of block, and most normal attacks seem to be special cancellable. For an example combo that uses a variety of attacks with the fighter, you can do: light, pause, light, pause, light, light, Cymbal Attack (Left Special+Heavy), pause, Skyward Slash (Right Special+Heavy).

The more I dig into this the more interesting it gets. You can combo out of the equivalent of Devil May Cry's Stinger(Blink Strike) with the right timing, and moves are jump cancellable. Using this, you can do the following with the fighter: Blink Strike (Right Special+Light), pause, light, pause, light, light, jump, jumping heavy, pause, light, light, 3 hit Cymbal Attack (Left Special+Heavy, Heavy, Heavy), pause, Skyward Lash (Right Special+Heavy, repeated press). The part shown in italics is a loop that can be done repeatedly as the lights after jumping heavy are jump cancellable.

As far as I can tell this is wrong. If I do "light, pause, light, pause, light, light, Cymbal" I perform the exact same swing twice(with a pause in between them), then the same swing and the same SECOND swing that always follows the first my always-the-same three hit X attack, then a Cymbal attack.

Level up and go back later. It's easier with more HP and better gear.
