Edit: What'd you like about him? I made him a support mage since a friend of mine hates messing around with wizards but I'm curious what other people think.

Well, I didn't use him all that long because I outleveled him pretty quickly, but mostly I just liked that he used the fire enchantment and healed constantly. That's really all I want out of a support mage so he worked great. And of course since we're Live friends I just thought I'd be a cool dude and give you max ratings. I'm definitely being harsher on pubbies. Though to be fair, the higher leveled support mage I picked up after your dude was loving worthless as far as healing in combat. :colbert:

There is depth here if you want it, don't worry, for reference I have only been playing the fighter based classes.

Hell one of the Assassin skills is literally just a roman cancel(Lets you immediately stop what you are doing and go back to neutral for those that do not know).

The announcer in the Guilty Gear games calls it "Romantic" whenever you roman cancel but it's just been shortened over time to make it easier to reference.

Yeah "romantic" is often shortened to "roman" in Japanese. There are even Chinese characters for it, 浪漫. They have the same root meaning in English too anyway.

The easiest way is probably through the ancient quarry (just northwest of Gran Soren), but I say "easiest" very, very relatively.

For all the "Why is the water killing me?" etc questions, it is some fog-like creature called The Brine that lives in the water. It is pretty much everywhere and nowhere hive-mind kind of entity. If you fall into the water and "die" you don't actually die, just get teleported back to shore, so don't worry too much about it.

Also, I agree with everyone who said that the menu music was spectacular. It feels like a cheesey 90s anime starting up in the best possible ways. Really drives that Berserk relationship home.

It's a shame it doesn't play more often in the game. The game's story would have been much better if it was just complete cheese all the time, but they try to do the "epic" approach more often than not.

In your hometown, you can talk to a soldier on the beach who explains a little about The Brine! They are many and they are one. They are Legion. They... don't want you taking shortcuts across the water or you could've just caulked a raft, made the bison thing stand on the hydra head, and Oregon Trailed your rear end to Gran Soren. :v:

Ok having put decent time into Fighter, Warrior, Assassin, and Mystic Knight, the Knight is the coolest class, if only on the virtue of sky dance.

Sky dance you rocket jump up into the air, then do a flying stinger at the enemy. and anyone near you(enemies) also gets launched up with you, it also can serve as a double jump.

Coolest moment I have had in this game so far was killing an enemy by jumping between rooftops and sky dance right into his face.

On the other hand, those of us who could give a poo poo about anime are appreciating that it's not always OVER THE TOP WACKY ANIME FUN TIME. I think it works in the game's favor that those of us who want to play it like we're playing a really awesome real time D&D game aren't taken out of it by anything.

Different strokes, but I'm glad they actually kept it bland enough so people could fill in the blanks with their imaginations. I think that's one of the reasons I feel so immersed in this game more than any RPG I've played, well, since pretty much ever.

You get a couple more at level 5, and then the real big gently caress-off sorcerer spells come at 6. As people told me earlier though you should be able to just use the mage offensive spells in the meantime. Or did you not go Mage->Sorcerer for some reason?

Just went ranger from strider and I lost pretty much all of my skills. I figured more would transfer over. Oh well, I'll probably max out my ranger for the augments and then go back to Strider so I can continue to have the ensnare+ ability and master thief.

Also, I finally realized what this game feels like to me. It feels like Two Worlds. Except it's legitimately good with no irony. It's like what Two Worlds was trying to be.
