No one man should have all that Psycho-Power.

Sorc is better in pretty much every way, minus the heals.

But heals is what people want, since I switched my pawn over to sorc she is getting hired less :(

Yeah, my mage is almost entirely about buffs and healing, that's kind of the way I like it. Maybe I'll try some AoE spells though.

edit: what about enemy status effect magic? I love blinding enemies. The saurians in particular scurry around so adorably when they're blinded.

It doesn't matter how long I live, I will never have a hat as dashing as this.
Found a decent way to game the Ogres without cheesing and banishing them off a cliff.

Jump onto the their back and start climbing up, when they throw their arms in the air to prep for the back-slam, jump Straight Up off of it, he'll throw himself down, and you'll dodge a few feet over him, landing a couple seconds after he does, and you'll have a good couple seconds to start bashing at his face before he gets back onto his feet

It gets a bit harder when they flip out and start constantly attacking, but I imagine it's still doable as long as you've got some space to maneuver, I almost got the one on the Spiral Staircase with just a tier 2 Trusty Sword and this strategy as a Warrior, then I wound up getting stunlocked from an sloppy dodge and beat to death while on the ground :(

Aaccording to the skill list on gamefaqs: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/626515-dragons-dogma/62838832 Sorcerers keep most of the status-inflicting spells.

EDIT: And they get better ones, like sleep and petrification.

Yeah that's how I've been dealing with them because you won't always fight them on a cliff. While your're in the air do a heavy attack so you do a giant helm splitter on him for tons of damage. They are tough as nails but they have a huge wind up on all their attacks so pay attention and you should be untouchable.

I've been sitting here for 5 mins trying to think of a joke to make but I just realised the animators of Mass Effect already did it for me

So I remember a long time back there were rumors of romances in this game. Has anyone found out what they are? I'd all but forgotten about it, but since one of the pairs I set up in the demo was me and my wife, she wants to know if you can romance the pawns.

With great power, comes great crunchability...
Dear lord, people have no imagination. I did a search for mage pawns, summoned the top 5 on the list that had the healing spell (I can't be assed to heal in battle!) and literally 5 redhead girls of various hairstyles come walking out of the mist. The next 3 or 4 searches were virtually the same. It was like some bizzaro version of Children of the Corn. What is it with people creating mostly short girl mage pawns?

Also, I was upset that Xbox didn't let me keep my demo pawn's name. It might say Betty above your head, but you'll always be Bitchtits in my heart :sigh:

How in the hell do you use the Metamorphosis item? You know the one that lets you re-design you and your pawn? I bought a ton of dyes and the item itself and the game gives you absolutely no clue as to how to use it.

I'm only a few hours in but I don't see how you could have a romance with a pawn. They are emotionless, timeless soldiers.

You don't just "use" it from your inventory? Also I thought all the dyes and stuff were unrelated.

"Art of Metamorphosis" is classified as an Other item but it's nowhere in any of my character's Other space, or anywhere else in their inventories for that matter. It's not in my item storage, it's not a skill or spell, and the game's own description for the item gives absolutely no indication as to how to use it. The only vague idea I had was the definition of "arcane magick" so maybe a Sorcerer can use it, but so far I have no idea how to use this item I spent 5,000 RC on.

I'll try the barber I guess, but that still doesn't change the fact that this game doesn't explain at all how to use an expensive and apparently one use ever item.

The hairstyles are all samurai-ish hairstyles which I wasn't interested in, I didn't end up using the armor that came with that pack either (it's a single piece that replaces everything your character is wearing) so I basically wasted two bucks.

But hey, that's DLC for you.

Speaking purely regarding the whole "ENTIRE CASTER ROOM IS BABIES" thing, generally speaking, you want your squishiest artillery piece to not stand out from a crowd. Get a pile of burly beatdown machines and nobody's going to notice the little girl summoning a tornado from the heavens until they're busy being caught up by it.

I agree though, it's gotten entirely out of hand, I was going to reroll tonight anyway due to a bunch of fuckups on my part.

Man, I'm having a time of it trying to find a quest I can actually do. :(

Troublesome Tomb I can't do because I get swarmed by about a dozen bandits and get torn to absolute shreds, Land of Opportunity I can't finish because the hell I'm spending 30K gold on that blowjob, The Cypher I got no leads on, and A Fortress Beseiged is somewhere a million miles away and the only path west I can find is the one that takes you into bandit country.

I guess I'm going to do the long, slow, boring haul back to Gran Soren again to just grab every single quest on both the Hunt and the board and hope I can find one to do. Was trying not to just load myself down like that, but I guess that just isn't how it works. Main's level 17, as is my pawn. Guess I need to get a couple new pawns, since both of those are 13. Don't think it'll help much with this bandit problem though. Those guys hit hard! Certainly isn't going to help me figure out how the hell to get from Point A to Point B, though.

Should I be wandering off the beaten path? Keep hearing tales of people doing that and then getting stuck in Really Bad Places. There's a mine behind the pawn camp that the hydra attacks. Is death lurking in there, or is it safe to poke around?

Spoilers abound but not plot related west of the capital is a network of mines, called the ancient quarry, you'll find a traveling merchant there who asks you to open it up, after you do he'll ask you to dispatch the 3 ogres there, once done any subsequent visit to that area will have humans and guards so the enemies are cleared permanently, this path is a shortcut to the camp area before the shadow fort

The quests aren't... really quests. They're just "Find This Item!" with all the items on top of roofs. They kind of help for giving you reason to explore some areas you might not otherwise but I almost think they're intended more as "Buy this DLC for free experience and money!" but making you do a little fetch first.

I don't know if I'm using any of the DLC hairstyles because I'm not sure which ones they are, but the armor you get is pretty cool. Overall, probably not worth it if you're not being a completionist. Since I got a deal on a $50 points card I'm totally happy with throwing down and throwing Capcom a bone.

Nice thing about it being out in the US for a few days is us EU-Crew can ask our questions before spending our money!

My only real question is with the amount of content. Is the OP list just a few of the monsters or are there only ten across the whole of the game? I know there are smaller ones like goblins and stuff but only ten 'big' monsters doesn't seem like very many.
