So uh I did an escort quest to bring the innkeeper to the healing springs, and he died on the way. Now he is gone from the inn and I can't get my storage, or rest, or do my skills. This has been ongoing for several quests in a row now, am I just hosed or what.

Have you guys been doing any combining of items? And if so what are you finding are good combinations to make? I've done it randomly here and there but for the most part I've just been throwing a lot of into storage since I don't really feel like dealing with it at that exact moment. There seems to be so many different combinations it's overwhelming.

So, do quests cycle on the notice boards or something? I had a quest to escort someone somewhere for like forever, but then all of a sudden I no longer have that quest. I didnt even do any big story missions, it's just gone Game owns like hell though, I keep running into neat poo poo that totally distracts me from what I was doing previously. I think I was around level 14 when I went out looking for some dude's book, and I was in my mid 20's before I actually got around to getting the drat thing.

Poison arrows are a must for any archer if you're going up against larger enemies. They tend to get really sluggish and, unlike fire, they can't cure it by rolling around. Lasts forever if you make a point of sticking them occasionally. I usually use cedar branches and mushrooms to make them.

Is it weird that I like giving pawns skeleton keys when I trade them in? Seems like a nice enough gift to leave for someone. What do you guys give? GT is the same as it is here, pawn's name is Arma. He's around L18 right now and... actually kind of looks like a young Soma Cruz at the moment. E: Okay, I give up. I'm just gonna play the game with a FAQ open. None of these quests - not a loving one of them - I can complete. Just tried to altar of the water god and the lizardmen ripped my entire team to shreds before we could even get into the room with them. So enough of 'discovering' things on my own. I reloaded from the checkpoint, saw that it was further back than my manual save, exited to the menu and selected Load Game. It loaded the manual save. Loading the checkpoint only discards your progress in the sense that you make manual saves a lot more often than checkpoint saves.

Little hint for anyone in their first few hours of the game: Whenever you get a chance, rest. Always rest. It's considered a checkpoint. If you're about to make a big decision in the game, rest. That way you won't lose hours of progress when returning to a checkpoint. Edit: Does anyone know where that short white skirt is? Maiden's something or other. Also, is there a difference between "The Ancient Quarry" and "The Quarry"? I'm really trying to find the Berserk armor vendors.

I really do think I love this game. Yeah, the story is awful, yeah it has annoying design quirks, but holy poo poo the combat feels so good. Being able to physically interact with enemies really means something and it gives the entire game world a sense of weight that is almost otherwise absent in games.

I thought about turning my Fighter main pawn into a Warrior. Trouble is, the pawn is kind of a tank-like character. How well do warriors work in a tank role, if at all? My character is a mage, so I've been playing the game like a scared little girl who happens to throw down some nasty fireballs and junk. Have the endurance as one too.

Is there any way to grab and hold an enemy? I see Pawns do it all the time, they hold back some dude's arms and say, hey risen stab this guy, but every time I successfully grab a man-sized enemy my risen just throws it over his shoulder like a sack. That's only useful when there's a ledge nearby.

Love it, I got into it 5 hours and just in the main city, I dick around too much exploring every nook and cranny, just can’t help myself. Work getting in the way so I won’t have a good pawn until later this weekend, but I so enjoy going through inventory and trying to make the best combo with clothing, armor and weapons, I can spend way too much time on that. I did get interesting bug, apparently the red dragon is bilingual in my game. Text, npc all speak English, yet he decided to speak Spanish to me. Actually after the first encounter I quit back to main menu to see if I changed language or something by accident but there was no such option. So I just went back, and in the first house you find yourself in, more Spanish, but then all the sudden he switched to English by the 3rd thing he said, I had no idea what to make of that. I even though the game might of somehow gotten that language option from Fifa, since I play that with Spanish or French, whichever fancy strikes me, kind of a cute bug though. Can't wait to get some free time so I can get back to adventuring, also, I really like the way they made the whole pawn system, definitely add tons to the game.

I get stuck trying to figure out what class I want the main and my pawn to be and what they should look like. I've already had to restart once, and I'm currently dissatisfied with my main character's look. Also this day one DLC is a dick move. At what point can I change my vocation/class/whatever. I hit level 25 on Strider and I've realized it's a jack of all trades class that doesn't specialize very well, leaving it with mediocre damage and horrible survivablity. It's a shame because I like the class, but I'm getting tired of watching the loading screen. It feels like playing Strider is like playing DD on hard mode and the deaths just feel cheap, sucking out the fun.

How do I know what core skills are carried over when I change vocation? Are they all just carried over? I switched from a strider to a ranger, and I still have my ability to double jump even though double jump is longer listed as a ranger skill, but some of the other core strider skills are still listed as ranger skills. All these escort quests are murder, man. First tried to help that one traveling merchant guy Benyard or something get somewhere, ran into a pack of invisible lizardmen and died. Next I tried helping Selene reach the Healing Spring, but as I was following the quest marker I ran into a huge mountain range that I couldn't pass, so I tried going around, found a bandit camp and instantly got killed. Luckily I saved a bit earlier, so I said gently caress it and decided to backtrack to Gran Soren in order to learn some new abilities and maybe change my class, it's dark by the time I'm halfway there, loving skeletons and ghosts start popping out at me, and when I finally, finally reach the city, some creepy group of robed sorcerers announce "We've been waiting for you Arisen!" and I'm suddenly getting blasted with magic up the rear end. I was just endlessly rolling around (love that Strider skill) trying to stunlock the mages with Scarlet Kisses. I finally made it back to the inn and unlocked the Mystic Knight and Magick Archer classes, but I forgot to leave enough Discipline to actually learn some drat skills. Also, gently caress snow harpies.

I finally got to sink a few hours into this game last night but it took a little bit for me to figure out how to make Baby-Mage Stalin an effective caster. This stuff may have been posted but whatever I'm gonna share my learnings anyway. -I switched to control scheme B and I found it to be more natural to hold the triggers for my primary/secondary skills than hitting the bumpers. Might have something to do with playing a bunch of FPSs, I don't know. -While holding a trigger, you only need to tap a face button to charge up a skill. For some reason I was holding the face button at first so I felt pretty silly when I realized this. -The spell won't cast until you release the trigger, so you can move around with the charged spell for better positioning. Jumping will cancel the spell, which is helpful if you're charging up the wrong one. -Clicking in the left stick will change the targeting mode from auto to manual. Useful for hitting bad guys from far away or casting Ingle at some scenery for dramatic effect. -Levitate owns and should be used for base jumping purposes at pretty much every opportunity. This is all really basic stuff, but the Mage play style didn't really click for me until I realized all of them. And now I've got Lenin fully loaded up as a level ~10ish tank so if anybody wants to grab him it's gamertag bruno jarbridge.
