For the grimoire I think just head towards the encampent from gran soren and some bandits are attacking some dude you can save. Then you get a hint to head towards their hideout which is off towards the southwest area(really can't miss it) Maybe making it as your priority quest will show you where to go.

Okay, so Witch Hunt quest spoilers right here. I have a question. Selene says she wants to go live in my house, which I guess is okay since I never use it anyways. Then an item box pops up. What am I supposed to do with that? Lotish posted:Right now my healer is Lil B (not at whom to check which goon he belongs to) and he's working out pretty well. He seems to be very concerned with keeping our health topped off, which is a boon on escorts where the ward keeps getting between me and the saurians (looking at you, Adaro! ) I have never had trouble on an escort quest because of him, it's great. Does nothing besides buff and heal, thanks Mendicant!

I think I made the wrong choice for getting more quests every single time except with the inquest. Does anyone know how to move those dormant golems in the witchwood? Or the spaces behind the walls in the quarry?

Major post-game spoilers here: My main pawn, who was my healer, mysteriously disappeared during the Beholder fight. I've done a few more chambers since then but I think I've reached the breaking point. I have few curatives remaining, no cure for petrification, no mage for heals nor status repair, and it's just plain impossible for the three of us to keep going. I haven't used a wakestone in combat yet because I wasn't sure if it would just bring me back (only to inevitably die again) or something story related that would autosave and have me regret later. Am I screwed, or is it time to kill myself with that fancy dagger that appeared in my inventory?

I suppose I should have remembered it from the first cutscene that the everfall loops back around with the sky, it just didn't dawn on me that it would be used as a gameplay mechanic. I almost gave up; it was starting to become impossible to get through everything with no items and an incomplete party

Any tips on taking down a golem as a mage? My main pawn and I are level 30 and I've been fighting this one golem for 15 minutes. We have the damage because when my pawn does, finally, manage to hit it's weak spot it takes a chunk of it away, but my spells don't seem to do squat. Are my spells even doing anything? I can't really tell. Edit: Without using the insta-kill spell. I won't always have it equipped and I want to learn how to beat it normally. The Wyrmking's ring takes almost 100,000 gold to counterfeit I hope it's awesome for magick archers, otherwise I just paid a lot to give somebody else's pawn a fancy-rear end gift. e: Also, Magick Archer picks up a lot around rank 5, but I'm still effectively a support character for my Warrior pawn. I guess for casters like you the most troubling part would be the foot/sole of the golem, i read somewhere that you should get close enough and smash your strong attack button, because pawns are too dumb to damage that bit.

Man, I had my heart set on turning my Strider into a Magick Archer once I raised his Vocation level all the way up. Then I found an enchanted sword that claims to "always be on fire" and that provides awesome stats. Now I'm torn between my dreams of shooting magic homing crazy stuff or becoming a Mystic Knight and murdering things with fire (even more than usual).

Yeah. I'm far away so the feedback isn't that great. Maybe I wasn't strong enough or something because I kept hitting a big one on its back and it didn't seem to do nothing. Do golems have crazy high magic resistances? I know they do have high resistance to everything except blunt weaponry.

Haha, that ending sure is something. Note though: If you're like me and play the game with music turned off so you can play your own music while you run around, turn it back on before the final fights otherwise you get to watch the ending cinematics with 0 sound.

Gestalt Intellect posted:How viable is it to always rent your healers? After finally ordering this I was going to roll one of the four Strider vocations myself and have my main pawn be a Fighter/general tank, but then I realized that I would always have to get healing mages from other people. Is it easy enough to search for the skills you need that I could rely on getting the ones I'm missing from others, or is that sort of luck-based? I've seen search criteria in videos for vocations but not skills. I'm playing a Ranger (started as Strider) and my MP is a Warrior and I've had no problems renting out healers/mages. Fighters make for wicked tanks and if you can teach your own pawn how to handle things they're even better, I find, since I tend to rent out a second fighter type as well. There are millions of mage pawns online anyhow, whenever I enter the rift there are probably 2 to 3 mages for every other character that wanders in.

Twelve hours into this game, and I still can't put it down. Striders are just the best thing. Climb, shoot, and stab things all day. Also- Anyone that's tried magic archer, is it comparable to strider?

What I gathered from the description in the Rift was that special pawns are just official pawns or something. I don't quite see the point of that, the game's supposedly loaded with official pawns as it is.

Well, Scension is really the only melee attack skill Magick Archers have that has a cast time, and as a result of that it's very awkward to use. Sunburst is instant and amazing. Backfire also has a cast time, but it's a fairly long lasting enchantment, so you just retreat a bit, fire it off, then go run like crazy and start clinging to everything to set them on fire.

There's also a quicker casting sigil ability that kind of leaves a trap for enemies. They touch it, they get locked down. Unfortunately, Magick archers are all about stick and move, so you almost never get to put the trap where an enemy will end up being. Even with a pawn tank, the battle moves around too much for it to be useful very often.

Doesn't even kill weak goblins, all it really does is fling light enemies for distance - and a Magick archer has better ways of doing that. That's sort of sad, everything I'm hearing is pointing towards Strider just still being better all around. Though to be honest, the only thing I'd really want is that super nifty flare arrow the Magick Archers get.

I love this game a whole lot, it eats up my time like a monster, but it's just so joyless when it comes to non story quests or non dungeon quests. And since I never got an adequate answer, in the "Honor Among Thieves" quest, where you have the option to murder ten people or just get one guy to own up... I caught that one guy stealing in Cassardis. Now he appears as the quest marker, but I can't do anything with him. I can't grapple him, I can't talk to him- he appears in town when I enter, and runs off and disappears when I approach. What am I supposed to do? Edit: Also, I like that his definition of individuality involves doing whatever he says. That's solid, bandit leader. FisheyStix fucked around with this message at 04:03 on May 26, 2012 |
