If I'm a level 40 Ranger, and I want to become a Mage after having been a ranger/strider for most of my levels, is that feasible? I know that Striders have some points put into magic, right? If not that, how about switching over to warrior or fighter? Kind of want to give another class a try after being a strider all the time.

I really love playing the Ranger. It took a little while to find the skills that were both fun and useful, but once you get that 10 fold arrow machine gun and the big spreading shot, you've got a load of great tools.

The best part about post-game as a sorcerer is that the resistances of every new enemy are drastically changed. Fire was the end-all ability in the normal game but that gets flipped around quite a bit. Not only does the post game require an entirely new moveset, which made things fresh, but having different skills with different cast times and effects meant that my play style had to adapt quite a bit as well. I really wish NG+ would take up where this left off

Magic Archer is probably my most enjoyed class. It has a lot of versatility and utility. The only issue I have with it is the magic damage output, but I'm currently a sorceror, leveling up and getting augments to help buff my magic. Also started as a strider and did some ranger stuff, so I probably didn't have the best starting magic growth.

The first time I did the quest she gave me an empty flask. So I reloaded to when I slept at the inn right before I started the quest and got her to give me the idol. You have to let her lose the race to get the Idol. I guess I'm boned. I leveled up and it autosaved I guess because when I reloaded I was standing around in the Noble's Quarters and talked to her and she gave me the golden egg again. Anyone seen any good robe upgrades? My Warrior and friend's Fighter pawn have seen a bunch of upgrades, my poor Sorcerer pawn hasn't seen an armor upgrade since the shop got the Missionary's Robe. Saw a mage pawn with something called Dalmatica that looked cool and they were around my level. There a quest for that, or dungeon? If you say Golden Idol shop upgrade I'm going to pitch that snot-nosed little poo poo off the loving castle walls.

Samurai Sanders posted:How is the ranger for melee? I know its not what they are for but sometimes you just need to put your sword in things. It's not too bad, I think. I sort of dabbled in being an Assassin and I think I do decent enough damage with the dagger, and it shares a lot of skills with the Strider class. (Actually, IIRC, Rangers don't actually get any new dagger skills, right?) The skills it gets for the longbow though are just so much better than the dagger skills you have access to however.

Is there a big advantage to constructing your own mage over just hiring one? I just added my pawn, Cervantes, to the game. He's like the former but so brave I'm about to hire some of you guy's pawns! I think I have about 60 people on my friends list and none of them own this game I need some cool gamer goons that enjoy this game on my friends list. GT Anklebiter25. Edit: As in specifically, where would be the best place to put it so I don't have to travel to a certain place all the time? Like, a place that's really out of the way and I go there a lot. Is anyone playing multiple games from the same gamertag/ID and using different storage devices? Does Capcom/DD let you upload multiple pawns from one account? I have this terrible feeling that if I try it's going to permanently overwrite my old, high-level pawn or something.

Jesus Christ... just took down my first golem and it was epic as gently caress. I had three warriors with me because I was trying (and failing) to do yet another escort mission. Coming back with my tail between my legs (loving pack of 80 dire wolves) and... WHAM. I camped out on a tall rock and sniped while the little pawns got swatted around like ants. The big enemies are really the best part of this game.

I hate Gryphons, bastards spend most of the time flying away only occasionally swooping down to attack for 2 seconds before flying miles into the sky again, my pawns tell me to grab it to stop it flying away, to which when I did grab it, it flew up and threw me off. Meanwhile, my midnight exploration came to end when I ran into what looked like a Lich in the middle of the forest near the Female Bandit Castle, I was totally blown away by him.

I generally found that if you jump onto the neck and just hang there, it won't be able to throw you off easily, giving your pawns plenty of time to set it on fire. Of course, once it's down, I use Ruinous Sigil to stunlock it

Seeing how much damage a warrior can do with just Guts' sword and the arc of loving one shot kill everything, I can hardly imagine what the dragon slayer would be like in this game.

Big props to Shardok, whose pawn, Scarlet, decided that she had had enough of this chimera's poo poo and decided to kill it in about 3 casts of the Big Ol' Fire Wall spell. It was in the middle of the night and my entire party was injured, so I was rather worried for my escort's safety at first, but uh... not anymore.
